Darkness and Flames

HONK

I looked around the cathedral and everyone was frozen in spot. A couple of the humans looked confused, but the trolls: their eyes were wide.

The honk was distant and if I was right, it was coming from the basement. Great, just fucking great. All I needed was an insane clown that probably wants to honk the world to death or some dumb twisted shit like that.

I ran my hand through my hair and stalked off towards the side door in the corner of the room. I heard another honk, it was much closer this time, practically on the other side of the door.

I grasped the knob and pulled it open. A small lit candle was at the top of the steps.

Honk.

I grabbed the candle and waved to the others before decending into the basement. A sickle was in my hand and I held it at the ready while the candle was at the other. Only five steps down though I stopped.

The silhouette of a person was sitting at the bottom of the stairs. I took another step down and they turned around. Gamzee's face was covered in different shades of blood and he grinned up at me.

"welcome to hell brother."

HONK.

"Meenah, MEENAH! Stop," Meenah's hands hovered over Terezi as she tried to use her god tier powers to heal her. She shook violently and sweat dripped from her brow.

"J-just a little longer Serket." She planted her feet, but I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her back. She broke her connection as we fell over.

"What the glubbin fuck! I had that!" Meenah cussed again and pushed me away from her. She tried to sit up but she seemed a bit too woozy and just rested her head down on the floor.

"That's why dum8ass, you're not strong enough to do this on your own."

"Well we ain't lookin for ma dancestor, she's she's too nice and sweet." Meenah cringed.

"Suck it up Peixes, if you and her can heal these things then we've got a cure." Meenah rolled her eyes and I turned away from her looking at Terezi.

She looked up at me and my eyes widened as I head the words as clear as day, "K-1LL MMMMM3....K-K1LLLLL M3."

I stood up and grasped her shoulders, "Pyrope, you're still in there."

"K1LLLLLL M33333 V-VR1SK4," her head rolled to the side and her tongue poked out of her mouth and tried to lick my hand causing me to pull it away.

She moaned and groaned as she became a mindless creature again. I turned my back on her and held my hand to Meenah. She took it and I pulled her off the ground.

She looked at me then turned away, but before walking out of the room she turned back, "Yous is fucked up Serket."

She shut the door and I leaned against the wall again looking at Terezi. I didn't say anything, I just pulled out my sword and pointed it at her. I cut the side of her neck, she didn't cringe or anything. Anger swelled inside of me and I drew the sword back to swing, but I couldn't do it.

I was weak, I was fucked up. I dropped the sword and slid down to the floor feeling the rocking of the ship.

Nepeta

I slammed my claws down into the skull of a zombie troll. I wretched them out and the troll fell from the tree and to the ground. Another zombie quickly replaced it though.

":33 Ampurra help me, there are too many of them!" I kicked the head on another out of the treehouse.

Eridan sat huddled in the corner muttering something about being too great to die.

":33 Ampurra if mew don't help me I'll throw mew out and mew will die just like the others!" I tossed another zombie from the house and pulled Eridan's collar forward. He squealed and pulled out his wand.

He shot behind me and blasted a zombie that was about ready to chomp on my shoulder. I let go of him and turned back to the zombies. They were coming through the door of the treehouse. I backed up and Eridan shot at them.

How in the hell are they climbing up here anyway?! It didn't make any sense!

"I'm sorry Nep, I'm just scared of-of them eating me." He said shrilly as more tried to fit their way through the door.

In the distance through the moans I could hear crackling. The smell of smoke was getting more potent in the air.

":33 We knead to get out of here or we are going to get worse then them eating us." All Eridan did was nod as he sent out another blast of magic in the the horde of zombies.

He then suddenly turned and blasted a hole into the wall behind us. The flames from the houses we saw earlier were much closer and they lit up the yard below us. A thick branch close to the ground was untouched. I leaped from the window and landed on it then jumped down and began to run. Several zombies followed and I quickly looked back as I hopped the fence.

A majority of the zombies at the tree were gone and Eridan began to climb down. He caught my eyes and I gave him a quick nod and yelled, ":33 The tower!"

I jumped down in the other side and ran for it. My heart was pounded and I was at home stretch. The cathedral was so close I could see some lights inside. They were like beacons.

I screamed Karkat's name, Fefari's, Dave's and John's. I hope to god that they hear me or I was going to be trapped in a dead kitty corner.
