Chapter 19: Wicked Game

Adele was sitting at her work table and drinking coffe while going through her research. She had done an urgent surgery to save someone's life. She looked at one of her hospital bed where Kerber was resting.

He was bandaged across his body and arms and legs. Leaving him only in his underwear. Good think that she was passing by when she found him unconcious. When she got there, three little girls were crying beside him.

She found out that the kids were sold as a slaves and were rescued by Kerber. When she checked his pulse and felt it was faint one, she quickly took him in her arm and dashed towards her lab with the kids. She managed to suck out the poison from his body with a machine. She healed his cuts and bandaged him up.

The kids refused to leave his side. They were saying "Is big brother going to be ok?". They were worried sick for him. Adele found it cute that they viewed him as a brother figure. He doesn't want to admit it, but his saving lives around him. That's what Adele's sees.

The kids were sleeping in three other beds that they brought closer to sleep with eachother. Adele gave them blanket to sleep comfortebly.

Adele then heard groaning and turned towards Kerber, who was beginning to wake up. She stood up and went beside him. Kerber opened his eyes, but his vision was blury and the light wasn't helping his case.

Adele:Hey, Kerber. Are you alright.

Kerber turned to his left and managed to see Adele. She had worried expression on her face.

Kerber:Adele?

His voice was raspier, which means he was out for quit some time.

Adele:Yes. It's me.

Kerber:Where am I?

Adele:You're in my lab right now. You were lucky that I was nearby, or you could have met god.

Kerber:Huh?

Adele:Don't you remember? You were fighting with someone.

Kerber:Oh...right.

Kerber wanted to sit up. Adele helped him by leaning him and adjusting his pillow.

Kerber:Wait. Where are the kids?

Adele nodded with her head to his right. He turned and saw them slesping together. He sighted the sigh of relief.

Adele:You gave them quit the scare. When I got to you, they cried "please, help big brother!".

Kerber:...

Adele:And I saw that you killed those two.

Kerber:I killed only Melissa. Lemmy was killed by her.

Adele:Oh.

Kerber:Anyway. What time is it?

Adele:6 in the morning.

Kerber:How long was I out?

Adele:For 10 hours.

Kerber:10 hours!?

Adele:It's a miracle i managed to heal you. You were walking on a thin line between life and death.

Kerber:I see...

Adele:Today you're leaving for Kelpies?

Kerber:Oh yeah. I forgot about that.

They hurned shuffling beside them and saw the kids waking up. They rubbed their eyes and started looking around. When their eyes landed on Kerber, their eyes begane to tear up.

Luna/Air/Fal:BIG BROTHER!!

They all lunged at him and engulfed him in a big hug. They cried on him and squeezed him tightly. Kerber was shocked, but returned the hug. Adele just smiled at the cute sight.
