Emma:

The sun rose up and escaped through my curtains. The bright light made my eyelids flutter awake, and I yawned. Nala, my kitten, was waiting patiently at the foot of my bed for her food. I ran my fingers through her soft fur and poured her breakfast.

Seeing her tiny body chowing down her food remimded me of how hungry I really was. I carefully selected my clothes for the day and I headed downstairs in my fuzzy rabbit slippers.

I looked downstairs and saw Jake sitting at the small, white ktchen table. He was shoving a poptart down his throat like it was the air he needed to breathe. It was amazing how much teenage boys can eat.

"Goodmorning," I said, and I tosse my hair to one side. "Slow down! You are going to choke!" I said, referring to the second pop-tart that he was about to inhale.

He opened his mouth, then closed it, "morning," he took a gulp of his orange juice, "how did you sleep?"

"Like a baby," I said with a smile, "what about you?"

"I slept fine...until i woke up around midnight. I felt sick and I couldn't go back to sleep."

"What happened around midnight?" I giggled, figuring he was trying to pull something over on me again. Since we are siblings, he does like to joke with me often.

He sighed, "I don't know, I just woke up.The only thing I can think of it being was from the light radiating off of the moon."

I looked at him and slapped his head lightly, "Its all those videogames before bed."

"Haha yeah right!" he said with a sarcastic expression on his face, "its probably your cooking!"

This conversation ended with me chasing him around the kitchen trying to hit him, when all of a sudden a heavy bang stopped our fighting, and I quickly looked to my left.

"I was trying to sleep," dad said grumpily.

"I...we are sorry dad," I said, trying to get out of his way so he wouldn't hit me.

"Just go," was all he said.

I took my breakfast and went into the living room, and i sank into our big gray couch. Once I was settled, I took our universal remote and turned on the TV.

On the bus, as I was listening to Elena Siegman blast from my iPod's headphones, i couldn't help noticing how my brother's best friend, Blaze, looked today. He stood for the bus with long, brown hair and broad shoulders. He was tall and had such light green eyes. I remember one time i said that God painted them with his own custom color.

Blaze and Jake have been best friends since they were little. I remember the time he slept over and I cried because he didn't want to play a game with me. I was young, of course, but I guess i've just had a crush on him ever since.
