*Hey guys, I have decided to go back to how I wrote the first chapter. The style of the writing.**
The air was now thick and dark. No sunlight could penetrate through the thick cover of the branches onto the scared siblings.
Their horses had now slowed down into a trot, Caspian was ahead leading the way for Eloise. The branches pulled at her Emerald cape causing her to stop and tug at it for a few moments. Caspian had stopped after no longer hearing her horses footsteps.
"We have got to keep going. Miraz's men could be right behind us!" Caspian said glancing past his sister with a worried expression. Eloise pulled her cape free and ordered her horse to trot on.
She was cold under this cover of darkness and was now very hungry. It had been hours since her last meal and she thought it would be hours until her next. She was bored of this sea of endless fern trees and she was annoyed at this ever blowing cold winter breeze.
Caspian was bashing branches in front of him causing snow to fall onto him or flying back onto Eloise, she was least happy about that.
"Why did you have to drag me into hiding with you!? I was safe, uncle would never hurt me!" Eloise said pouting her lips in a childlike manner.
"You know full well he would have hurt you just to get to me!" Caspian answered gruffly annoyed at his little sisters childlike manner.
"Cas, I'm tired and I'm hungry and I'm cold! Please, can we stop and rest somewhere warm?" Eloise asked pulling her horse to a stop.
"Point to somewhere, that is warm and safe? Hmm! There is nowhere!" Caspian shouted annoyed but also hungry and cold too. He sighed when he heard his sister sniff behind him. "Look, Eloise, I promised mother and father I would look after you and that is what I am doing. I promise as soon as we see anything warm or, at least, safe we can have a break but I'm sorry we have no food" Caspian had turned to look at Eloise pulling his horse to a stop as well. Eloise gave him a small smile.
"But what is your plan? We are in the middle of the wood which are haunted with ghosts, no food, no money, no guards!" Eloise shouted at her brother annoyed at his incompetence to plan an escape. "What sort of escape is this! There must have been no planning what so ever, I mean look at us!" Eloise flopped off her horse and onto the snowy ground below.
"Get back on the horse! Now"
"NO! I want to go home and I"
"Shh," Caspian said getting off his horse and placing a gloved finger over Eloise's lips. The sound came again closer this time!
"Right we have to move," Caspian said running to his horse. But it was to late an arrow flew out of the trees surrounding them and hit Caspian in his shoulder.
"CAS!" Eloise screamed running to her brother. Another arrow came whistling out narrowly missing Eloise. She grabbed Caspian pulling him behind a tree.
"I believe you now, but we need to get out of here!" Eloise said kissing her brother's cheek and catching her breath said "If I ride on, then it would give you a chance to leave, go and get help!"
"From where!? Everyone wants to kill me!" The were whispering now. Footsteps were coming closer and they were running out of time.
"Please Cas, listen to me for once. You are injured and cannot ride. You need to stay here, just while I lead them away. Please!?" Eloise begged her brother and finally he nodded his head. Eloise kissed his cheek again and cautiously started walking towards her horse.
"Be careful, please!" Caspian whispered after her. She quickly pulled herself up onto her horse and hit her brothers horse so it started to gallop in the opposite direction to where Cas was. Eloise quickly galloped the other way and soon after Cas heard the thunder of hooves following his sister. He moved a little and cried out in pain.
From a dark place, a little beam of light could be seen. Cas followed it holding his injured arm steady. The beam grew closer and closer and soon he was in a clearing. There was a large oak tree standing proudly and the light seemed to be pouring out of there. He carefully took a few small steps closer.
The oak tree had a door and that door flung open and out flew a very nasty looking small thing.
Caspian cried in horror and fumbled backwards losing his footing and falling over onto the ground. He quickly rummaged for the horn and blew it.
There was a cry from the thing, it rushed forward hitting Caspian on the head with the end of an Axe. It dragged Caspians limp body into the door away and slammed the door behind him leaving the wood in the silence it had been before the siblings entered. He locked the door firmly and sat down on a stool and started to sharpen a knife.
Before you fear the worst for Caspian. Maybe there are a few things you need to know about the thing that dragged him away. The thing was, in fact, no thing. It was a dwarf. This dwarf was a black dwarf. Now you may feel some fear for Caspian. But trust me there is no need. The dwarfs did fight with the White Witch but she is gone and it has been many years since her reign. The dwarf (whose name is Nikabrik) has not fought with the White Witch maybe his generations did before him but not him and he has no want to.
Now this hole. Was not an ugly hole. It was a warm hole with three bedrooms. In this hole lived Nikabrik and a badger called Trufflehunter.
"What is this, Snow in the house how many times do I have to tell you two! Oh, Aslan! What is this!? A son of Adam in my house! What have you done? Trufflehunter exclaimed. He was wearing a flowery cooking apron and there was a rich sweet smell floating through the small hole.
"He blew the horn! He had the horn. It is happening! They are returning." Muttered Nikabrik standing up and throwing his knife over to the other side as a sign of disgust. He stomped up a few stairs and slammed another door in the small hole.
"Trumpkin, where are you I need your help!" Out of another room, another small dwarf appeared.
"What is this! How can this be?"
"Look it doesn't matter now! Look he is very badly injured, he needs help. Help me move him into a bed." Just as they picked him up to move him, Caspian awoke.
"Please help me" He croaked trying to see where he was.
"That's what we are going to do, It will all be alright," Trufflehunter told him trying to calm him down. It suddenly dawned on Caspian that his sister was not there and he tried to sit up.
"Ahhh" Caspian groaned as he knocked his arm.
"Look, just relax it will all be okay!" Trufflehunter said soothingly.
"No, my sister! They are going to kill her! Please, I must help her" Caspian passed out again. Trufflehunter looked at Trumpkin.
"I will go and look for her," Trumpkin said collecting his cloak and knife. "But she could be anywhere but I do hope she is alright!" He slammed the door behind him and trudged off into the thick snow.
"Now let's get you sorted out"
