This is another filler part. I just needed a way to get them in the same place, so I'm sorry it's short. I need to think hard about what's gonna' happen in future chapters, but I'll try not to take too long updating.

Vic’s POV;

I groaned as I slowly awoke to the feeling of somebody jumping on me, repeatedly shouting the words ‘wakey wakey’. I kept my eyes closed and rolled over onto my other side, causing Jenna to fall over onto the other side of the bed.

“Vic, get up, lazy.” She laughed and pushed me off the bed. I landed with a ‘thump’ on the floor, groaning as I did so. I curled up into a ball and refused to open my eyes. Today I was meant to be resting, and this didn’t seem like resting to me. “No Vic, seriously.” I rolled onto my back and weakly opened my eyes to see a grinning Jenna peering over the side of the bed at me.

“Jenna, I just want to sleep, please.” I sighed loudly, closing my eyes again. I didn’t know what it was with me, but I was already in a bad mood. It’s like I wanted to sleep forever to escape everything, and I didn’t know why.

“You can, just hear me out.” I sighed heavily once again. She took that as a sign to continue. “Well, considering we’re not far from San Diego, and you guys get a long rest from performing, why don’t we go down there, me and you?” I was unsure how I felt about this. “I have a friend down there who I’ve not seen for ages, and you get to see your mom and dad. Come on, it’ll be fun.” She looked at me with pleading eyes. I could tell how much she wanted to go, and I did really want to see my parents.

“Fine. But why wake me up so early to ask me that?” I groaned once again.

“Vic, it’s ten thirty, it’s hardly early.” I stayed silent and closed my eyes again. I still lacked energy; I guess all of the performing at Warped Tour had taken a lot more energy out of me than I first expected. I felt grips around my wrists and opened my eyes. Jenna was trying to pull me up off the floor and I smirked at her as she failed. I took hold of her wrists and pulled her down, grinning at her. She kissed me softly on the lips and I pulled away sooner than I usually would’ve. It didn’t feel right, at all. I couldn’t understand why, but it didn’t feel right anymore.

“I just, uh, need to get my bags sorted.” I said, squirming out from underneath her. She nodded and smiled at me as she stood up.

The car journey was... tiring. That’s the best way it could be described. And for a person who was already extremely tired, it was the last thing I needed. For a normal person, the car journey would’ve been rather enjoyable - singing along to songs loudly, playing stupid games to pass the time, etc. But I’ve been far from normal these past two days. I didn’t understand the feelings I had at the moment but one thing I was certain about was that they weren’t what I usually had. I tried, honestly, I did. I tried to act to Jenna like nothing was wrong but in the end I guess she could suspect something.

“Hey, Vic-” She’d said as she turned down Pantera blaring through the speakers. “-What’s up?” I internally groaned at the dreaded question.

“Nothing.” I lied, but she didn’t believe me.

“There is. You’ve been acting strange since Warped finished.” She tried to hide the frown on her face. How could I tell her what was wrong when I wasn’t even sure what was wrong myself?

“I’m just tired, I guess. Don’t worry about me.” I said reassuringly. She didn’t say anything else about the subject.

I knew the journey was almost over when we drove by the beach I had spent most of my teenage years on. Looking at it brought back a sudden flood of memories, and the most prominent one being the one where Taylor joined our group. I had looked over at her, watching her as she sat peacefully looking out at the sea with such content in her beautiful eyes. Even though she was alone, she seemed happy where she was. I remembered the genuine smile that stretched across her lips when I made my way over to her, and the slight nervousness in her eyes as we wandered over to the group together. This memory brought on more memories, and as I played back the memory of the zoo, I remembered exactly why and how I fell for her. No, Vic. She’s out of your life now. You have Jenna.

“We’re here!” I hadn’t even realised that we’d drove past the beach. I looked around to see where exactly we were. I vaguely recognised the street, but it wasn’t somewhere I had visited often. Maybe once or twice when I was walking around with Mike or my dad. I climbed out of the car as Jenna did and followed her down the flagged path to one of the houses right in the middle of the street. It wasn’t a big house, so it gave me the impression that Jenna’s friend either lived there alone or with a partner. Jenna tapped on the door and took hold of my hand as we waited for an answer.

Tay’s POV;

I’d awoken early to the sound of Blink-182 - What’s My Age Again? ringing down my ear. I’d answered my phone straight away without taking any notice of the caller ID as I thought it may have been Jordan. After all, I was still extremely worried about him. To my surprise, I’d heard the voice of my old friend Jenna, not Jordan. It’d been a long time since I last saw her, and conveniently, she was near San Diego with her boyfriend and wanted to come and visit me. She was quite eager for me to meet him, and the tone of her voice proved to me that he really made her happy. She was really eager to see me again, and I was definitely excited to see her. I gave her my address and hung up so I could get ready. I decided beforehand that I would make an effort as I didn’t want to give her boyfriend a bad impression of me.

I was just tidying up my living room when I heard a knock at the front door. I squealed quietly with excitement and set off at a run towards the door, clearly forgetting where all my furniture was. I got my foot caught on the leg of the coffee table and fell to the floor with a ‘thump’ just inches from the sofa. I burst into laughter, somehow managing to shout “Come in!” between it.

“Oh my God, Tay, are you okay?” I heard Jenna’s voice ask worriedly, but when she heard me laughing, she laughed too. I hadn’t actually heard the front door open - I must’ve been laughing too loudly.

“I got a bit excited and tripped up when you knocked on.” I calmed my laughter down and Jenna helped pull me to my feet.

“You’re so clumsy, come here.” She smirked and pulled me into a tight hug. I saw somebody over Jenna’s shoulder standing awkwardly a few feet behind her. I looked up to smile at them, but instead froze still as I realised who it was. He smiled weakly at me and shuffled where he stood, but all I could do was stare in disbelievement. “I’ve missed clumsy Tay.” She pulled away from the hug and noticed me staring at Vic.

“This is my boyfriend. He’s called-”

“Vic. I know.” I finished for her. She looked confused for a millisecond.

“Oh, you’re a fan of his band?” She posed as more of a question than a statement.

“Not really.” I shook my head and moved my gaze from Vic’s to Jenna’s.

“Oh... how do you know him then?”

“Tay’s a, uh, friend of mine. We used to hang out when I lived here.” Vic chimed in. A friend? Our friendship was lost five years ago.

“I’m going to get some drinks.” I said bluntly, walking past Jenna. I glared at Vic as I walked past him, quietly mumbling “Think again about that.” to him as I disappeared into the kitchen.
