Time Revisited

Tools and Author's note

Emery began to follow Dr. Jones out of the tent but stop when she bumped into to something on the table covered by a big cloth land map. She pulled it up and gasped at what she saw. Emery called out to Dr. Jones "Doc, come look!" Dr. Jones walked back in "What is it Emery? Is everything alright?"  Emery held up her tools "I found them! I forgot I laid the map on top of them". Dr. Jones shook his head "Didn't I tell you if you retraced your steps then you will find what you have lost?"  Emery look at him. Red started to creep on to her cheeks, she looked embarrassingly up at him. "Not in so many words, no.  All you said was 'where was the last time you saw them'. Or something close to that".  Dr. Jones laughed, "Well next time I'll be sure to clarify what I mean.  Or you could just remember this valuable lesson and there won't be a next time". Emery turned to the table and examined her tools making sure she had all her belongings in her leather bag .  Once she made sure everything was ready to go she slipped the bag across her body and her case on her shoulder. Then she turned back to Dr. Jones. "I'll try to remember that Doc." Emery patted her bag, "But in the mean time I'm going to keep my bag and case with me." Emery turned and left the tent and headed to the dig site with Dr. Jones following behind her.

Hey y'all!!!! Sorry for the very short chapter and also for the very late update. I forgot I had this story. I started this my freshman year of high school and now I'm in my second semester of freshman year in college. I'm hoping to continue this story through the semester and beyond but I'm not sure on how often I'll update though. I'll try to do at least a chapter a month and I'm going to be writing in Emery's point of view. So please bare with me and I'll try to not make a lot of grammatical errors. No promises though!😂
