This is my first quest with my boyfriend Percy and our friend Grover. We had only days until the end of the summer solstice,looking for Zeus's missing lighting bolt.
"Hey guys maybe we should look up there to see what we're dealing with." He was pointing at the Gateway Arch with the elevator leading up. We walked into the elevator along with a large women and her small dog. I would've loved the view of the water,but I had something to do more importantly sadly. My stomach started to crawl and I looked towards Percy he shook his head and we both looked towards the women and her dog. "I knew I smelt demigods." She crooked,giant black wings shot out from her back,as her dog disappeared. Her body was scaly and green;Percy unclasped Riptide as we heard the ding of the elevator. We darted out and the fight began. I took out my gun(one of the Hephaestus kids made it for me.) and shot at the monster's wings but it kept bouncing off she was creeping closer to Percy. I ran in front of him of shot her right in her forehead,"nice shot babe." He high-fived me,I smiled. Our victory didn't last long;it felt like I was hit with a giant TV and it sent me flying over the edge. I hung on for dear life. I heard the battle above raging on,"(y/n)!!!!" Percy yelled in concern. "I'm here,I'm okay." But I knew I wasn't my fingers were slipping. I looked down and saw my feet dangling over the sea. Don't panic, I thought to myself. Stay calm and collected in these kind of situations. "There's no where you can go demigod." She said happily. Percy looked down at me then back at the monster."(Y/n),do you trust me?" I looked up at him puzzled. "Wh-"
"Do you trust... me?" He asked sternly. His eyes looked into mine. "Yes" he held out his hand for me to grab,which I did. Then he jumped off the edge into the water.
I watched as the ocean was getting bigger and bigger,he grabbed me hand before we hit the water with such impact. It was like breaking glass. I scrambled in the murky water looking for Percy,I opened my mouth chocking on water. I felt a hand on my cheek and another on my waist pulling me close. A pair of lips on mine. I held on to Percy as he rose to the surface on a wave. We pulled away once we got to the beach. Grover was frantic,asking us questions. I started to choke and gag. In the distance police sirens could be heard. "Let's move." And we disappeared from the crowd.
