Elodie Coral is a sixteen year old student who has been through a lot. Her parents died when she was eleven and she gets bullied in school by Nathan Sykes and his gang.
The school is holding a masquerade ball and Elodie doesn't want to go so she stays at home. But when her two bestfriends Lauren and Naomi (who are going) go to her house everything changes. They give her a gold outfit to wear and force her to go.
Elodie said: "Fine I will go, but only for an hour then I'm going back home!"
Elodie dances with a mystery boy she doesn't know.
She leaves in a hurry but as she is her masks slips off her face.
The mystery boy finds it and keeps it. He's determined to find out who she is.
The only thing he doesn't know is that the girl it belongs to gets bullied by him.
