Like the old hotels, the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg has strong links with the past. It was built in 1913, close to where Upper Fort Garry once stood. The fort was built way back 1835, on the site of an earlier trading post. In 1870 the famed Metis leader, Louis Riel, captured it during the Red River Rebillion.
But a connection yo history isn't the only thing many grand old hotels have common. Like several others, the Fort Garry Hotel is said to be haunted.
For years, guests at the Fort Garry have reported feeling as they weren't alone when they stayed in the certain rooms. But those reports haven't stopped hundreds of guests from returning to the hotel year after. In fact, a few specifically ask for a ro that is rumoured to be haunted....TO BE CONTINUED....
