I can't seem to process everything that happened within some hours. It was supposed to be my brother's wedding and here I am sitting as a bride myself.

My father and family severed all ties with me. The thought alone makes my chest ache then Nakul uncle and Sangeeta Aunty, they must be so disappointed for choosing me for their perfect ideal son, and I brought nothing but disgrace.

And Randheer...

The name echoed in my mind, every incident from the day came rushing back like a reel playing on loop.

Through it all, from the very first day we met again away from the innocence of childhood, he stood beside me, an unwavering shield from the harsh gaze of the world.

Randheer's words had been my armor yet they were the same words that made me vulnerable.

In the midst of all this chaos, my trust in him had multiplied tenfold but this was not what he deserved.

A hurried wedding.

A TARNISHED WIFE.....

The faint knocks on the door snapped me from my thoughts as the door creaked open as Randheer, still clad in his wedding sherwani entered with slow steps.

My gaze instinctively fell on him and for a moment, I forgot to breathe.

The upper buttons of his attire were undone, offering a glimpse of his toned chest, while a red scarf casually hanged around his broad shoulder highlighting his tanned tone his handsome face, now shadowed with exhaustion.

I curled the fabric of my skirt involuntarily as he threw his turban onto the sofa. Randheer's eyes met mine briefly before he stepped toward the bed.

The intensity of his gaze was almost too much to bear and my surroundings did nothing to ease my nerves.

He lay down on the edge of the bed, facing me, his head resting on one hand, veins subtly flexing along his forearm.

"Parthvi."

Randheer had called me by my name many times before but today it felt different.
I hummed softly, my voice betraying me as if even the smallest sound would break the fragile stillness between us.

Despite the distance between us, it felt intimate, far more than it should have.

"Remove that veil." There was something in his firm yet gentle voice, an authority that made my body obey before my mind could even register it.

With trembling fingers, I slid the veil off my head. Though I was still fully clothed, his gaze made me feel exposed in a way I couldn't explain.

"Lift your lehenga." he instructed and my eyes widened. What was he thinking?

"Huh?" I barely whispered, unsure if I had heard him right. "Lift your lehenga, Parthvi!" Randheer repeated casually, his tone leaving no room for argument but I sat frozen.
