LUKE'S POV
"Stay away from her. I just want my best friend back and now she hardly remembers me ever since you came into the picture. You need to back off. I swear to god, if I see you talking to her, you're dead meat Hemmings." Jackson spat before walking towards his girlfriend: Jess. The room seemed to spin. I don't know if it's because I was hit against the brick wall pretty hard or because my vision is blurred by fresh tears. Jackson's words honestly scared the shit out of me and the only thing to do was to follow his orders. Jade needs her best friend and I can't risk taking that away from her.
I felt a tug on my sleeve, reminding me of who I was with.
"Luke," Jade whined "snap out of it. What's the matter with you lately?" she lifted a questioning eyebrow before handing me the glass of water that I asked for earlier.
"Nothing," I lie "just thinking about things. You can go home if you want, there's nothing keeping you here." I say a little too harshly before chugging back the water and standing up, making my way to the sink.
"Okay... first of all, you need to tell me what the hell is going on. Secondly, there is something for me here, it's you, duh. Lastly, if you don't want me here, why did you invite me over?" Jade crossed her arms intimidatingly, forcing me to lean back onto the kitchen bench, trying to calm my nerves. I didn't want to tell her about my recent conversation with Jackson but I also didn't want to ignore her like this.
"Nothing's going on, I just figured that maybe you should head home. It's a Wednesday night and you need to have a good sleep for school tomorrow." I try to convince her but I know that there's no hope of that excuse saving my sorry arse.
"School nights have never stopped you before but if you insist, I'll go." Jade turns sharply on her heel and half runs to the front door.
"Don't be ridiculous Jadey. My mum can drive you home." I run over to her and attempt to turn her around by her arm. I suddenly felt something hit my hand really hard, my immediate reaction to wince and suck in a harsh breath, clutching my hand.
"Don't be ridiculous Lukey. I can just use my skateboard." I can tell that she's pissed off by the way she mimicked me and by the forming bruise from where her skateboard hit me. She picks up her schoolbag, throws it over her shoulder and spins away from me at the same time, making it connect with my ribs.
"See you round Hemmings." She makes sure to put emphasis on my last name before slamming the front door behind her.
"Well that was amazing." I mutter to myself, wincing at my physical injuries while attempting to walk up the stairs.

JADE'S POV
"Hey honey, how was school? What did you do at Luke's?" My mum greeted my flustered looking self at the door.
"School was just chirpy," I put on extreme sarcasm while throwing up my hands "and Mr. Hemmings was in a real shifty mood so I left." I shrug simply, making sure that it looked like he had no effect on me. I dropped my bag at the front door and I grimaced at the harsh sound of it hitting the wooden floorboards.
"Sit down right now young lady." I automatically groan and throw my head back. I don't feel like talking if the woman couldn't tell already. Is she really that fecking blind?!
"Mum, I'm not in the mood."
"Sit." She says forcefully, pulling out a seat at the kitchen bench.
"Fine. Ask me any questions. Go ahead." I wait silently, as soon as I started speaking, she stood up and made her way to the pantry.
"What are you doing?" I almost laugh, she's so weird. I can see her frantically searching for an item until she grabs something quickly and then throws it at me. I only just manage to catch it before looking at what it is.
