Jungkook walked down the campus corridor, a rare, soft smile playing on his lips.

His lecture had gone well— his students were engaged, asking about ancient civilizations and, more specifically, his book.

Rumors about The Unknown Pharaoh had spread fast.

Everyone wanted to know more about *
Tyung. Who he was. What inspired Jungkook to write about him with such passion.

Jungkook answered each question with ease, but his mind had only one destination — Taehyung

He pulled out his phone, dialing his number, expecting that warm voice to answer instantly.

No reply.

Frowning, he called again. Still nothing.

Then he heard it.

A familiar ringtone, muffled but close.

His heart skipped a beat, feet moving before he could think. He followed the sound, passing through students, until—

He stopped.

Just a few steps ahead, Taehyung was on the ground.

His body was stiff, his eyes wide, unblinking, pupils blown out with terror.

He looked frozen, like a trapped animal.

Jungkook’s stomach dropped.

His eyes flickered to the man standing in front of Taehyung, but his face was turned away.

“Taehyung?” Jungkook rushed forward, kneeling beside him, hands hovering before he gently touched his shoulder. “Baby what’s wrong?”

But Taehyung didn’t move. His breathing was erratic, chest rising and falling too fast, eyes wide.

Then, he finally spoke.

"Jungkook —run."

The way he said it made Jungkook’s blood run cold.

Slowly, he followed Taehyung’s trembling gaze and saw—

The shadow warden.

Blond hair, striking features, an easy stance as if he belonged here.

But Jungkook knew better.

His body reacted before his mind could process.

His jaw clenched, and his hands curled into fists. His breath was sharp, his chest rising as an undeniable rage crawled up his spine like fire.

“You..” he gritted out.

Felix turned to face him fully. His expression was unreadable, brows slightly furrowed, as if he were the confused one here.

“I don’t know what’s going on,” Felix said, his voice deep, steady. “I was just walking, and he—”

“save it!”

Jungkook’s voice was dangerous now, his anger barely contained. His entire body was tense, his instincts screaming to lunge, to fight

“You shouldn’t exist,” Jungkook hissed.

Felix’s brows knitted together. “What?”

Jungkook took a threatening step forward. “Why’re you here again?” His voice was low, trembling with fury. “Did you follow us?”

Felix’s eyes darkened, something unreadable flickering in them. But before Jungkook could snap, a soft gasp made his entire world shift.

Taehyung.
