A/N this chapter is dedicated to........ carlyjems !
"Oh my gosh," Lilith said, "You're right!"
"Now we know where to look," Brian added.
"Just one question," Henry asked, "There is no known place in the forest that she could be hidden. As far as we know, there's only trees and trees until you hit Forks."(A/N Forks is an actual town on the Washington coast, not some made up place in Twilight. So ha!)
"There's also those little towns in between," Lilith said.
"Yeah, but still. Where would she be hidden?" Henry persisted.
"Well, I've never noticed that that path split before and I've walked on it hundreds of times," I replied.
"So maybe there's something else on the new path!" Brian exclaimed.
"True," Henry stated, "But the paths lead on for miles and miles, and the new path may have other paths that lead off from it. And let's not forget, this is a rain forest. We are so lucky it's not raining right now. Honestly, we're a rain town." (A/N It is a rain forest by the way, they're all over the Washington peninsula. Hey! I don't pick a setting without doing my research😏)
"How will that make a difference? We're all used to rain, I bet we've all walked this trail while it's raining!" Lilith pointed out. Brian slowly cleared his voice, very loudly. "Oh, sorry. Most of us have walked this trail while it's raining," she added after remembering about Brian.
"Thank you," Brian muttered.
"Anyway," I continued on, "We just need to start walking the paths everyday, and one day soon we'll find Kayla. It's not going to be that difficult. There can only be so many paths that lead off from the new one. It will probably take less than a month to find her." I put out my hand.
"Okay," Brian agreed, "Is this going to be the plan?"
"This sounds like a good plan," Lilith smiled. Lilith and Brian put out in their hands on top of mine.
"I'm in," Henry, finally, gave in. He put his hand in.
"On the count of three, 'We'll find her'," I said, "One, two, three!"
"We'll find her!" We all exclaimed. We turned back and started back to Brian's house. We walked faster this time, so we ended up only taking about five minutes to get to Brian's house. Lilith and Henry got into their separate cars and drove off. I started to get into mine, when Brian stopped me.
"I will drive you home," he said.
"But I drove over here in my car," I pointed out, sitting in the driver's seat.
"Then, I will drive you home in your car," he said. He walked around the car and picked me up out of the car. Yes, he picked me up.
"Put me down!" I yelled, kicking my legs, not very violently, but enough that he might get a bruise.
"Nope," he grinned. He sat down in the driver's seat, me still in his arms.
"Now put me in the passenger's seat," I said.
"Fine," he smiled, "But only because it's not safe for me to drive with you in my lap, and I don't want you to get hurt. Now buckle up."  I did as I was told and pulled my seatbelt over and clicked it in the seatbelt thingy. (A/N what do you call that thing? And before you say, 'Didn't you do your research' well, I'm sorry, but I researched the Washington coast, not the anatomy of a seatbelt.) Brian followed suit.
"Now, give me the keys," he said.
"No," I giggled.
"Oh really?" He said, a smirk coming to his face.
"Oh really," I smiled in return.
"What if I tickle you?" A smile spread across his face.
"No!" I exclaimed. He leaned his hands forward and they tickled my stomach and up my side, and I couldn't stop laughing.
"Stop!" I laughed.
"I can't understand you, you have to stop laughing," he said, smirking.
I took a deep breath and suppressed the need to laugh. "Stop, I will give you the keys."
"Good girl," he smiled, no longer tickling me. I pulled the keys out of my small purse and handed them to Brian.
"Don't wreck the car," I warned.
"I won't," he smiled. He pushed the keys into the ignition and he pulled out of his driveway and onto the road. He started up the road and a smiled was put on his face. "So, how's my girlfriend doing?" He asked.
"Fabulous," I replied.
"Good," he replied. I gave him a quick peck on the cheek. "Really? Just a kiss on the cheek?" He complained with that smirk spreading across his face.
"You're driving," I said.
"Promise me a real kiss when we get to your house?" He asked.
"Promise," I smiled. We continued driving in a peaceful silence until we got to my house. He parked the car in the driveway and got out with me. We walked up to my porch and I turned towards him. "Here's that kiss," I smiled. I kissed him full on the lips then opened the door behind me.
"Bye Sarah!" He called out.
"Bye Brian, and just so you know, if you didn't drive me, you wouldn't have to walk home!" I called back.
"I don't care!" He said in return. I blew him a kiss and closed the door behind me. I turned toward the living room and saw my mom with her arms crossed and an annoyed look on her face. She gestured to the couch with her head, where I saw the top of a head. It had brown hair. The person stood up and turned towards me and I had to stop myself from strangling them.
"Hello, Sarah," they said.
"Hi, Grey," I pushed out, putting a fake smile on my face, "Mom. Why is he here?"
"He insisted to come in and wouldn't leave. He said he wanted to talk to you," she replied.
"Well, I'm sorry but I don't want to talk to you, Grey, so you you can show your sorry butt the door," I said, putting another fake smile on my face.
"Well too bad, because I am going to talk to you," he said, "Can you give us some privacy?" He asked my mom. She nodded and left the room.
"Wait, can I go get something real quick?" I asked.
"Uh, sure, why do you need-" he was cut off by me opening the door and running outside.
"Brian!" I yelled out. I saw his figure turn around and run back at me. In almost thirty seconds, he was back by my side.
"What is it?" He asked, worry spreading across his face.
"Don't worry, I just need you to help me get a jerk to leave me alone," I said.
"Oh, is it Grey?" He asked, saying his name with disgust.
"Yes," I replied. We walked back inside together to face an almost steaming Grey.
"Who is this?" He asked.
"You know how I said I met somebody else? This is him," I smiled.
"Are you serious? You're dating this?" He asked.
"This has a name," Brian muttered, "It's Brian."
"Yes, I am serious. And I love Brian, so you can back up your sorry butt. And also, you can leave," I said.
"I don't believe you. I think you just pulled this guy off the street to make me jealous," Grey said.
"Well, you know how I didn't kiss you or let you kiss me until we had been dating for like three months?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said, "Those were the longest three months of my life, and it was worth the wait."
"I don't like hearing him say that," Brian whispered to me.
"Me neither," I whispered back. "But watch this, and Brian and I haven't even been dating for a day." I stood on my tippy toes and kissed him. He leaned down, which let my feet rest and deepened the kiss. He pulled me closer to him by my waist. And it felt like nobody was watching. I slowly broke off the kiss then turned to Brian who was wide eyed.
"What?!" He exclaimed.
"Yes, so you can leave now, punk," Brian muttered. Grey ran outside and left us alone.
"Thanks, Brian," I smiled.
"You're welcome, Sarah," he replied. He gave me a quick peck on the lips then walked out and started home. I sighed of relief and happiness and sat on my couch and dozed off into a nap.
