"I'm nervous," I admitted to Steven as we pulled into set. He turned the car off and unstrapped his seatbelt, me doing the same. Steven took my hand and kissed my wedding ring and then my knuckles.
"Whatever happens, we will be okay." I nodded at his words and got out of the car, going around to the back to get Caiden. He fussed as I unstrapped him, wanting to be free to walk around like always.
Caiden is definitely the more active twin. He loved waddling around and chasing people, while Cleo was way more laid back.
"Alright, CJ." I placed him on the ground and held his hand as he walked along next to me. Caiden tried pulling his hand away but I wouldn't let him. "If you're gonna walk on your own, you've got to hold Momma's hand."
He then stopped struggling, as if he understood me. "Here we go," I whispered to myself.

Melissa kindly offered to watch Caiden and Cleo while Steven and I talked to Robert.
Emmie sat on my lap as we waited outside Roberts office and I quickly glanced over at Steven who gave me a smile. "Don't be nervous, babe."
I faked a puzzled look. "What? I'm not nervous anymore!" He then looked down at my left hand that was gripping tightly onto the arm of the chair. "Okay...I'm nervous."
Suddenly, the office door opened and Robert kindly asked us to come in. "Emmie, stay out here," Steven told Emmie.
"Actually, I want Emmie to come in this time," Robert cut in, smiling at Emmie. "Take a seat anywhere you would like."
I sat down in between Steven and Emmie, who was entertaining herself by twisting around in the twirly office chair. I felt Steven's hand rub my thigh gently before taking my hand under the table.
"I wanted to talk to you about Emmie."
Before Robert could finish, Steven turned to face Emmie who looked surprised. "Alright, come clean. What set or prop did you break?" He asked.
Before Emmie could argue, Robert spoke up again. "No, no, she hasn't don't anything wrong at all, Steven. I've actually got some....somewhat exciting news."
"Somewhat?" I asked, giving him a puzzled look.
Robert paused for a moment before finally saying, "We want Emmie on the show. We created a character just for Emmie and we already know she's good by watching her practice lines with everyone." I glanced over at Emmie whose eyes widened and mouth dropped open. Before any of us could be excited, he spoke up again.
"But, there's some bad news as well. If you want her on the show, Maggie would have to go." Nobody spoke for a moment. "I'll give you guys a few days to think about it."

The car ride was silent. I don't think any of us wanted to be the first to speak. I was finally about to say something when Emmie beat me to it. "I'm not gonna do it," she said.
"Do you want to do it?" I asked, glancing back at her.
Emmie hesitated before answering. "Yes, but then you would lose your job."
"If you want to do it, then you're gonna do it." She stubbornly crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm not gonna let you pass up the opportunity just to keep me on the show."
"And you're not gonna lose your job because of me!" Emmie argued back. "I'm not gonna do it. You love your job so much, I can always tell."
"You're doing it, end of discussion." I stole a quick look at Steven who just looked strait forward, focusing on the road. I could tell by his blank yet tense expression that he didn't want to get involved. Then, I heard Emmie mumble something softly that I couldn't make out. "What?" I asked, making Emmie narrow her eyes at me.
"You can't tell me what to do," she repeated.
I raised my eyes brows. "Oh really? Well the last time I checked, I was your mother, so yes, I can tell you what to do."
Emmie made an annoyed grunt sound. "You aren't my real mother. My real mother is fucking Joana. Thanks dad." She did air quotes when she said the word dad. "I bet you're lying to me about that too. I bet you aren't my real father, you're probably just lying about that just like everything else."
Steven's knuckles were turning white out of anger as he gripped the steering wheel tightly.
"See there's-" Emmie started again but Steven cut her off.
"Emerson Nicole Yeun stop it right now!" He yelled. I was surprised that the twins had stayed quiet through all the yelling and fighting. Normally at least one of them would cry. "That's enough! We will discuss this when we get home but for now, you're grounded."
*Steven's POV*
I couldn't take much more of the screaming and the yelling over the stupid role Robert offered. It was keeping Cleo up all night when she should've been asleep. Caiden was a heavy sleeper so none of the yelling seemed to wake him up. I looked down at Cleo who was on my lap, her lip trembling. "I know, Cleo. I want them to stop fighting too. I've tried to help but they just yell more."
I could see the exhaustion in her eyes so I wrapped her up in a blanket and went outside to the rocking chair on the porch. "Maybe it'll be a but quieter out here for you."
It only took minutes for her to fall asleep on my chest, making me smile as I looked down at her. She looked so much like Emmie. It reminded me so much of when Emmie couldn't sleep when she was younger and I would have to rock her.
Carefully, I stood up and brought Cleo upstairs to the twins room and put her in her crib.
As soon as I stepped out if their room, the yelling started again. I didn't even think it was about the whole role on the show anymore but I didn't care.
"STOP IT, BOTH OF YOU!" I finally yelled.
"SHUT UP!" They yelled back at the same time.
I couldn't take it anymore. I went downstairs and grabbed my jacket and keys before leaving the house, slamming the door behind me.
