Why did America feel like she needed Aspen in her life? Like hello don't you see that that Maxon is totally freaking in love with you!

so it has been two years since I wrote this. I kind of still agree with this, but I also have another point of view.
Aspen and America were together for so long, and planned so much. They had a life together, and just because it ended so early in the book, doesn't mean that we should ignore that. I feel like America wanted to hold on to him because he was all she knew, and going to the palace was an adjustment for her, to the point that seeing a familiar face from home, someone she loved, made her feel better. I understand her hesitation now.

(But i still 100% hated when they snuck around behind Maxon's back for obvious reasons)
