"The US will face Australia in the round of 16. Australia won 2 of their 3 group stage matches and lost the 3rd. The US won all 3."
Your POV:
I sat on my bed. I was still rooming with Julie. She was with her boyfriend. There was a knock on my door.
I got up to get it. "Ally?"
"Hey. Can I come in?" She asked.
"Yeah of course." I let her in. "What are you doing here?"
"I just needed to see you." She said. I looked at her eyes.
"Ally whats wrong?" I walked closer to her.
"I can't do this anymore."
"What?"
"This whole friend thing with you. If you would even call it that." She sighed. "I was an complete idiot to let you go. I never loved Troy. I always loved you but I was just blind that whole time. Troy was there for me when you weren't. I need you Y/N."
"Ally."
"I love you. I've always loved you. It was never Troy." She said.
"Ally I'm with Jake now."
She turned around. "I know that!" She looked at me again. "But do you really want to be with him?"
"He won't hurt me." I said. "Not like you did."
Just then Julie and Kling came into the room. "Then I was like-" Kling stopped talking. "Um hi."
"Hey." I said. I looked at Ally. "I think you should go."
"Y/N."
"Go." I said. She sighed and left.
"What happened?" Julie asked.
"Nothing. Let's just worry about the match." I said.
*Game day*
We were in the locker room early before the game. "Here is our lineup." Jill said walking into the room. I didn't look up. Everything with Ally yesterday was still in my head. "Backline no changes. Hope you are still in goal."
"Midfield is pretty much the same, Tobin, Carli, Morgan but Megan you are gonna get a rest today. Kelley you are in her place."
"Forwards! Sydney and Alex."
We went on the field for pregame warms up. Jill pulled me over. "You haven't been yourself lately. I know something is bothering you and whatever it is the team and I are here for you. I know you'll have a great game, but you'll be coming off the bench today. Alright?"
I nodded.
"Good. Let's get to work shall we." I ran onto the field and started to stretch out with the team.
Ally's POV:
After I talked to your name I got on a plane and went back home. I wasn't wanted there so I left. She deserves better than me and if that's Jake then so be it.
When I landed my brother picked me up and we drove to our house where all our family and friends were having a viewing party.
Y/N wasn't in the lineup and they showed her warming up.
No One's POV:
The US came out attacking right away. Alex scored in the 5th minute followed by Morgan in the 10th. The US were on top 2-0 and they were only 16 minutes in.
Morgan went down hard just outside of the box. Everyone ran over.
The trainer was called and it looked like the US was gonna use an early substitution.
"Looks like the US has Kristie Mewis and Y/N L/N warming up. L/N is mainly a forward so if she comes it the US will most likely go into that 4-3-3 formation."
Kristie went in for Morgan who was in a lot of pain. They held off the Australians for the remainder of the half and went to the locker room satisfied.
The 2nd half picked up. In the 60th minute the Australians took Sydney down. The US bench was on their feet, worried about their teammate. The ref issued a yellow card and Sydney tried to get up but couldn't under her own power.
"Substitution. Number 8 Amy Rodriguez replaces Number 2 Sydney Leroux."
L/N had her face in her hands. The Australians came back and scored once. Once turned into twice and with the blink of an eye the Australians took the lead 3-2 in the 73rd minute.
Your POV:
"L/N!" Jill said. "Come here." I walked over to her. "I'm putting you in."
I nodded. I went in for Carli and we now had 3 forwards out there. Julie had the captains armband.
We ran towards the Australian goal.
"Alex!" I yelled. I had the clear shot. She shot it and the goalkeeper saved it, the ball going in my direction. I jumped up for the header and got pushed on my way down.
The ball went in and I got up and ran towards midfield as Alex grabbed the ball. "Let's win it!" Kling screamed.
