A cold wind blew through the empty road as Abhimanyu walked aimlessly, lost in his own torment. His hands trembled, his eyes clouded with unshed tears as Raghav's words kept echoing in his head.
"Murderer... You stole our everything!"
Each word clawed at his heart, digging deeper into his guilt. Aanchal's face flashed before his eyes—her innocent smile, her teary-eyed confession, her pain of letting him go so that he could reunite with Akshara.
"Abhimanyu, I only loved you... but you were never mine..."
His chest tightened.
Abhi-She loved me... and I couldn't even see it. I was so blind in my own world... I didn't realize she was suffering. I failed her... I failed everyone..."
Tears slipped from his eyes. He was completely engulfed in the storm of his guilt.
Abhi-I couldn't save Aanchal. I can't keep anyone happy. I dragged Akshara into this mess too... she will suffer because of me now... Just like Aanchal did."
His mind was drowning in darkness. He didn't notice where he was going. Suddenly a blaring horn pierced the air. Headlights flashed. A truck sped toward him Closer and Faster. Abhimanyu didn't move. He didn't react. Just as the truck was about to hit him—
A strong pull. A desperate voice.
Abhi!!!
A pair of hands yanked him back. He stumbled, falling onto the ground. His heart pounded against his chest. His breathing was ragged.
He looked up—Akshara.
Her eyes were filled with panic, her hands gripping his arms tightly.
Akshu (frantic, voice shaking)-Have you lost your mind, Abhi?! What were you doing?! You could have
Her voice broke, her eyes welling up.
Abhimanyu stared at her, still numb, still drowning.
Abhi (whispering, broken)-Maybe I should have...
Akshara froze. Her grip on his arms tightened.
Akshara (firmly, tears falling)-Don't you dare say that, Abhi! You think dying would fix everything? That's what Aanchal would have wanted? That's what I—
She stopped, unable to continue. Abhimanyu looked away, guilt consuming him.
Abhimanyu (whispers, choked voice)-I couldn't save her, Akshu. She's gone... because of me...
Akshara cupped his face, forcing him to look at her.
Akshu (soft but firm)-Abhi... you did everything you could. You're not a murderer. You're not responsible for this.
Abhimanyu let out a shaky breath, his body trembling.
Abhi (teary-eyed, whispering)-Then why does it feel like I am?
Akshara pulled him into a tight hug, her tears mixing with his. The night remained silent, except for the sound of their breaking hearts.
The tense silence in the Birla house was unbearable. The weight of Aanchal's death loomed over them like a dark cloud, and Raghav's anger had left them all shaken.
Manjari sat on the couch, her face pale, her fingers nervously intertwined. Mahima paced the room, her forehead creased with worry. Harshvardhan and Anand exchanged concerned glances.
