(This takes place at the same time the previous chapter does. Selin will join the king and together they will go to the captains' meeting.)

3RD POV

Selin led the humans outside. The sun was now raised high above the city, its golden rays enveloping the earth and lighting up the sky. It was nice. The pleasant feeling, the warmth on his skin. Nicholas liked it. It was a relaxing factor that reduced his anxiety and calmed his nerves. And oh boy he needed this so much right now. Meeting the captains and the king was far more draining than some would anticipate, leaving the teen mentally exhausted. He was so glad it was over.

Looking ahead, Nicholas spotted Kenju standing by the massive gates, calmly sipping coffee from a white mug, underneath the shade of the wall. Severed was however nowhere to be found. Selin put two fingers in her mouth and loudly whistled. Kenju jumped in surprise, with the insides of his cup flying into the air. His gaze turned serious and with extremely quick moves, he used his mug to collect every last drop of the coffee, before it hit the ground.

Woah...

Nicholas was very impressed. He wondered what type of magic Kenju used right now. The hobo looking guy, despite his zombie-like appearance, possessed incredible speed and a lot of physical prowess. Not to mention his lightning fast reflexes. Could he be a light mage or lightning mage? Nicholas was eventually gonna ask him, and now it seemed like the perfect time.

Nicholas: - O....oh wow! That was super-fast! W...what kind of magic was that?

Kenju raised his head and smiled. He was very happy to receive a compliment from someone he considered a friend. Selin huffed, a little taken aback by the sight of her squad member smiling. It was.... unusual to see Kenju genuinely smile.

Selin: - Kenju doesn't have any magic. He was born without it.

This surprised the two boys. How could someone be able to move like that and not have any magic?

Selin: - Yes, Kenju belongs to a minority of mages who are referred to as 'Manaless'.

    Nicholas: - Oh...um... I am so sorry.

Kenju: - Pff, don't worry about it, my best friend.

His free hand snaking around the shorter boy's shoulder and pulling him close.

Kenju: - It never stopped me from passing judgement on the guilty.

He spoke with a dark expression on his face, as he showed him the city, moving his other hand around.

    Nicholas: - The...guilty?

    Kenju: - Yes, the unworthy!!

He abruptly let go of him and came face to face with the human.

Kenju: - Those who do not understand the value of coffee! Those who dare spill it! They are all UNFORGIVABLE!!

Hunter: - Please tell me, he doesn't mean 'passing judgement', the way I think he means it.

Hunter spoke towards the red-eyed woman.

    Selin: - (sigh), he does.

Hunter: - WHAT?! THEN WHY ISN'T HE LOCKED AWAY?!

Selin: - All I'm gonna say, is that he knows how to hide a body well.

Hunter bristled at her blunt choice of words. That psychopath was beginning to creep him out even more.

Selin: - I'm going now. And Severed, make sure they stay out of trouble.

Nicholas flinched when he felt the palm of a hand land on top of his head.
