This is a made up story using characters from a book. All credits go to Rick Riordan for the characters he made. Otherwise this is my story and I hope you enjoy.

Rain comes down as Will Solace sits in class taking notes and listening intently to the teacher. Other students throw paper and whisper every time the teacher turns her back on them. Will ignores this rough housing and focuses on getting his work done so he doesn't fail the pop quizzes that are sure to come. The bell rings and the teacher stops the lecture as the students rush out. Will gathers his materials and smiles brightly at the teacher. "Have a good day Miss Waler," he says and exits the classroom. Miss Waler smiles to herself as he leaves shuffling the papers on her desk.

"He's such a sweet and good boy. I know he'll get his dream," she says turning towards the board and erasing the graphs she had drawn for examples.

Will walks to his locker greeting fellow students with a smile and wave as they rush out of the school. The last day of the week with the last hour over, not many students want to stay in the school longer than they have to. "Hey Will!" Someone calls rushing footsteps echoing on the tile floor.

"What is it?" Will asks turning around to face his long time friend.

"Well, if you don't have any extra classes this weekend want to hang out?" The boy asks rubbing his neck and smiling with his always present smirk.

"Sure, but Cecil you can't make any trouble for me okay?" Will says sternly as he turns to his locker.

"Me? Make trouble? When have I ever done that?" Cecil asks him innocently. Will sighs and takes out his backpack stuffing in what he needs.

"Do you really want me to tell you all the times you made trouble?" Will asks tired my as Cecil pouts leaning against the locker beside Will's.

"No. Jeez, you are so strict, fine I'll try not to make trouble," Cecil says as Wil shuts his locker.

"What's this about you not making trouble?" A girl asks standing beside Cecil. Cecil jumps clutching a hand to his chest.

"My gosh Lou! Are you trying to kill me?" Cecil says theatrically. Lou Ellen rolls her eyes punching him in the arm and looking at Will. Cecil starts talking but she ignores him.

"So did he ask you about this weekend?" She asks Will flicking a complaining Cecil.

"Yeah, I think I'll have some free time so I'll check my schedule and text you the time," Will says as he and Lou walk side by side ignoring Cecil's grumbling.

"Alright! See you later then Wil! Come on you big baby," Lou says turning and pulling Cecil by the ear. Will waves at them as they go down a different hallway and continues towards the school exit.

"Man, it's really pouring down out there. Good thing I brought an umbrella," Will says stopping at the doors. He takes out a blue and green umbrella and pushes the door open. Opening the umbrella he starts his trek home through the puddles and mud. A few other people walk along the sidewalks some with umbrellas, others with a raincoat or hat on. Will waves at a few of them and smiles at the light cool drops that pour from the sky. He turns down an alleyway that he uses for a shortcut to his house. No one else really walks down that way and Will likes the peace. From the left a bush rustled and Will stops at the suspicious sound. He turns and slowly creeps towards the green leaves of the bush. As he leans in closer it rustled again and Will finds the courage to part the trembling branches. There stuck in some of the branches is a black cat. It's dark blue eyes gaze up at Will before it hisses half heartedly at him. Will reaches his hand towards the tangled branches around one of the cats back legs. The cat hisses at him but doesn't make a move to attack so he is able to get it free. Without noticing it Will has been stuck a couple of times by the thorns on the bush. He sees a drop of blood run down the black cats fur and picks it up out of the bush carefully feeling a few more thorns scrape his arms. The cat hisses at him still, but won't scratch at him. Will pets it's head once and picks up his umbrella where he had dropped it when he saw the cat.
