The lights-
They're so bright.
"Ayaka! Ayaka! Ayaka! Ayaka! Ayaka! Ayaka!"
I can hear people cheering, but that's not my name. No- its not my name at all, my name is Akira. Sumeragi Akira.
'Tonight's the night,' I thought as I stood off stage dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans covered by a pink plaid goth skirt, a gray t-shirt that read rock and roll with an eagle head on it and a black biker vest with spikes adoring the collar.
I stood there watching as a boy about six years old than myself performed flawlessly on stage. His ash brown hair flipped out and his glasses pushed up. Honestly I was taken by surprise that he could perform without them falling off at all with all those dance moves he performed while he sung.
I sighed.
"tonight's the night," I repeated to myself as I felt a firm grip touch my shoulder and forced me around to face whom the arm had belonged to. A woman with brown hair and piercing electric green eye stared down at me with a rather grumpy expression on her face behind her a man with the very same expression but with black hair stood behind her. "Now Akira dear, don't mess this performance up. Once it's over you'll be far more famous than you ever were and we'll go places." the woman chimed rather cruelly as I stood there fidgeting with my fingerless gloves. She didn't know what I had planned to do, neither of them did.
These people I called my parents; who only used me for fame and money. It hurt to even call them such casual names-no, they don't deserve those titles. To me they'd forever be known as Willow and Hanibi.
Especially after tonight.
"Stop fidgeting with your hands. It's unprofessional like! You know better than that. Now get ready. You're almost up." the man, Hanibi; my father, chimed as he slapped my hands and glared.
The woman spun me around towards the stage. "Ayaka! Ayaka! Ayaka!" I continued to hear the crowd chant as mid song the boy on stage raised his hand; microphone clasped in his other hand as he introduced me. I gulped and clutched my Mic tightly before being pushed on to the stage.
Looking over I watched as Willow and Hanibi stood off to the side watching with another man, their arms crossed as I was pulled into a half hug and to the middle of the stage. "Give a round of applause to Ayaka everyone!" the boy called out through the microphone before starting up the lyrics again.
Will you pick me up?!
Angel in the dark shining ever so bright letting the world see there is still a light of hope.
Don't give into your inner demons.
Don't run away!
I clenched my eyes tight as I shook, there was a moment of silence as the music blared behind me. They were waiting for me to sing, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It just didn't feel right to me. It didn't feel right at all. I could feel the glares from Willow and Hanibi as I ran off the stage to the other side and picked up my one only friend at the time. They guitar I had received a few years back from a child hood friend I hadn't seen since I had been wisked away into the entertainment world. Hooking it up to the amp before strumming a complex rift which caused everyone to go silent.
Even the crowd was taken by surprise.
I don't play by your rules anymore.
I see the things you have done to me.
I am a pawn to you.
To use, to play to kill.
Eventually you'll find a replacement for me and I will be tossed aside like yesterday's news.
