I left the hospital and decided to take the long way home and rest in my local park. I sat down, sparked up a cigarette and sucked in the taste of sorrow. I chose to bring out my sketch pad and pencils, I drew my feelings. The pencil went free.
A tall dark figure appeared in front of me, blocking the sun from my eyes. I looked up, only to see the boy I've been trying to avoid, Cole.
"Can I help you?" I scoffed. His lips curled into a small smile.
"I was just skateboarding and I saw you. I couldn't miss the opportunity to talk to a beautiful girl like you." He sat next to me.
"Maybe I should consider that restraining order." I said till looking down at my drawing."Why so glum?" He asked, his voice laced with sincerity.
"Look, kid. Youu're making yourself look like a dumbass. Quit whilst your ahead." I snapped finally, looking at him, ready to leave."Wait, please don't leave.."
"I don't obey stalkers.""I'm not a stalker..."
"Yes you are."
"No, I really am not." He rested on a swing to act cool, but failed and fell straight over.
"Oh. My. God, are you okay?" I asked, laughing.
"Yeah" He said, getting up. "Hey, um, do you want me to uh, walk home with you. If not, thats cool, and all..." He asked, scratching the back of his neck.
"Uh, sure." I agreed, automatically regretting my answer, as this was going to get very awkward very quickly. We got home pretty quickly, surprisingly. As I got to the door, and went to get my keys out. I searched and searched, but they weren't in my bag.
"Crap." I huffed, sitting on the grass.
"What's wrong?" Cole took a seat next to me.
"I must have left my keys at the hospital.""Why would they be at the hospital?"
"I'll tell you another time, kid. We aren't that good friends yet.""So were friends?"
"Don't be too excited. it doesn't work up to the high expectations you probably have.""Let's look for an open window." He sighed, standing up and brushing off his hands.
"What! Your not breaking into my house!"
"Oh but hunny, you'll be doing it too." He winked, slightly grinning.
"Fine, yeah whatever."
After what seemed like ages, we both got bored of trying to find an ajar window, I threw myself onto the grass.
"There." Cole said, pointing the second story window.
"I just sat down!"
"Nonsense! Come here, I'll help you up." I started to prop myself up onto Cole's hands."
"Cole!" I shouted "This leads to my bedroom!"
"Makes it more interesting..." He shouted back.
As soon as the words left his mouth, I whipped my head round, and I could tell by the redness of his cheeks that he instantly regretted not having a great verbal filter.
"I, uh-"
"Shut up, just push me up." I laughed.
He may have pushed me a little hard... "Ouch!"
"You got it?" I asked, sympathetically.
"Yup." I said popping the 'p'.
I ran down the stairs, unlocking the door Cole and invited him in.
"Welcome. TO MY HUMBLE ABODE!" I expressed, spanning my arms wide, over exaggerating.
"It's beautiful."
"Cut the crap, make yo'self comfortable in my crib." I said, slumping down on my sofa, patting the seat next to me.
He just grinned and sat next to me.
"What you smiling at, kid?" I joked, facing.
"You, you're beautiful."
"HAHAHAHAHA! And you, are too funny! I said pretending to wipe away imaginary tears.
"I'm serious." He said leaning in to kiss me...
