"You cheated on me!" I screamed.
"You know what? I don't regret it. I never liked you."
I awoke to the worst, yet best sound ever: my alarm clock. It was just a nightmare. I reached my hand over in a sleepy attempt to shut it off, but it was to no avail. Irritated, I felt my fingertips grace the wire that gave it life and yanked it out. Sweet silence.
After last night's peculiar events, I had definitely earned the right to sleep in. My mind began to float off once again before two things dawned on me. The first, I no longer smelled the harsh smell of vodka. My dress was definitely soaked in the stuff last night and that smell does not go away. The second was that my bathroom light was on. I jumped when I heard a groan emit from it.
Doing what anyone would do in this situation, I grabbed a can of air freshener and made my way to the bathroom, ready to spray an intruder in the eyes. Ok maybe this wasn't everyone's regular procedure (it sure wasn't mine) but it was the first thing I thought of while my brain was still relatively dormant.
I slowly cracked the door to see Mark. He was shirtless, sweating, and had one arm resting on the toilet seat. He was hunched over. Then I remembered Mark had slept here last night.
"Mark, are you okay? " I said while rushing towards him, the cold tile making my body shiver.
"Don't worry about me," Mark said with a weak smile, "it's just last night's mistakes coming to say 'hello Markimoo! You are an idiot-." He dry heaved and groaned once again before slamming his body against the wall.
"I'll go get you some painkillers."
I ran to the kitchen and sifted through my cabinet for painkillers. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and made my way back to him. I handed him the medicine and was meeted with a tired smile back. I sat next to him.
"How long have you been in here?" I asked.
"All night. " Mark groaned
"Jesus, Mark."
"I hope you don't find this creepy, " Mark began, "but I changed you out of that dress from last night before I came in here to throw up my life's regrets. I thought the smell would bother you. And no I didn't see anything. I'm sorry I put you through that. I don't remember what I did, but I know it was probably bad." Mark said.
"It's fine."
"It's not fine."
I sighed before noticing a piece of paper in Mark's pocket. I rolled my eyes at the sight of a few numbers and what definitely read: -xoxo MiMi
"You can throw it out." Mark said, clearly noticing my staring.
I grabbed the piece of paper and went to throw it in the garbage. Just as I was about to toss it, Mark interrupted me once again.
"While I was looking for something to change you into, I noticed one of your drawers was dedicated to YouTube." He said. I froze.
"Oh uh yeah. They give a lot of free stuff!" I said in a rush.
"And YouTubers."
"Yeah you know-."
"And me. I didn't know you were a fan of mine. You look cute in my logo tee." Mark said with a chuckle.
I looked down at what I previously thought was a plain black t-shirt and saw a white M with a warfstache. I said nothing as I returned back and plopped myself on the ground.
"You could've told me." Mark almost whispered.
"I didn't want you to think I was just some crazed fan and not take me seriously." I said honestly.
