The Call

The Call (Chapter 1)

Draya pov:     "Are you ready for this party tonight?" Jessie asked.  "Hell yea I'm ready" I said . Jessie and I are going to party tonight and I know it's going to be fun. "I heard that almost everyone is coming including you know who!" She said.  "Oh god please don't remind me,"I replied. "I hope I don't run in to Joshua at this party because we ended on a bad note" I said . "Well If you do run into him,don't say anything." She replied. But how can I not say anything I mean we did use to date. "I don't know what to tell you but I do know one thing."  "And what is that Jessie?" I asked. " You better not be sitting in a corner like some weird chick  trying to be avoided by every boy at the party." She said laughing. She sure knew how to make someone laugh. That's why I'm so happy that she's my roommate and my best friend.   Later that day we met up with the rest of our friends.
Trey, Mariah,Robert,Peter,Zoey and Ramon. They were all ready for the party. But me and Jessie had to go to our dorm room to get dressed. "Hurry up its 10:00 o'clock and Derrek's party just started and I don't want to be late!" Trey yelled. I don't know  why he wanna go so early I mean who shows up to a party on time like that's stupid. "Okay here we come just give us one minute jeeze !!" Jessie yelled back at him.  "  Can both of you shut up! I mean yall argue like yall married or something." Zoey said. I tried not to laugh because I know that Trey has had a crush on Jessie since we've been in college. "Why would you say something like that Zoey!?" Trey said with anger. "What? I mean it's the truth what's the problem?" Zoey replied. "You know sometimes I just wish you wasn't around because you always got something to say."  Trey said as he stormed out of the room. " Why did he leave? It was just a joke." Mariah said. "I don't know about you but I think that boy has some anger issues." Zoey said. "Stop talking about him, he is supposed to be your friend. Let me go see if I can catch up to him and get him to come back." Ramon said as he walked out the door. It was quiet for a minute. " Yall been getting dressed for more than a minute, now bring ya asses on!" Zoey yelled as everyone followed her out the door. She didn't even wait on us. Sometimes she can be really inconsiderate. We managed to catch up to them and we headed to the party.  It was a whole lot of people there. People in there twenties was there. Derek knew a lot people. I guess you can say he was popular.  Me and Jessie were dancing together like we always do. I went to go get us some drinks and that's when I ran into Ramon. "Hey Ray where you been? Did you catch up with Trey?" I asked. "Yea I caught up with him." He Replied. "Well what did he say?"I asked. "He said that he was sorry for leaving like that and he is trying to control his anger." He said.  "Is he still coming to the party?" I asked. "No." He replied and walked away like he was mad or something. "What's wrong with Ramon?" Someone asked me from behind. It was Robert . "I don't know he said that Trey went home and that he is not coming,"I said. "O well anyways guess who I found." He said. "Who? "I asked. And that's  when Joshua walked towards me. I just stood there and glared at Robert. "Hey Draya." Joshua said.  "H-hey Josh" I said nervously . "How you been I haven't seen you around ......." He said, but before I could answer, Jessie walked in between us and rolled her eyes towards him. "Girl I've been looking all over for you. It took you this long to get me a drink. Come on girl lets go sit over here." She said anxiously. I looked back at Joshua but he walked away. "Jessie why did you do that? I asked " Because It looked like an awkward situation."  She said. She was right but still she could've waited until I at least said something. "I guess I was wrong  but anyways I pulled you away because I need to tell you something." She said. What is it Jessie? I asked. "We'll see here's the thing I'm...." Her phone started to ring. It was an unkown caller. "Girl I'll be right back." She said walking off. She was gone for a while and I guess you can say I was dancing alone and that's when Joshua walked up behind me. "Hey Draya sorry to bother you again." He said. "It's alright." I said. It felt awkward. "Umm so who you came here with? Your new girlfriend?" I asked but I didn't mean to say the last part out loud. It took him by surprised. "No I came by my self." He replied.  "O well that's good I guess" I said. " I didn't come with no one else because I really haven't got over....." " I'm going home Draya Ill leave  the door unlock  for you." Jessie said interrupting our conversation. "Why? Are you feeling okay?" I asked.  "Yea  I'm fine. Im just tired imma catch a cab." She said. "Alright I'll see you later then." I said . She left and I turned around and Joshua was gone. Around 1:00 o'clock  the party died down and me and Mariah,Zoey, and Robert left. They dropped me off on campus because they still wanted to go out but I was tired. "Bye Draya get in safe, I hope your stalker ex boyfriend isnt waiting for you up stairs." Mariah said as Zoey and Robert laughed with her. "Okay bye" I replied I smiled even though I was not amused. They drove  off and I begin to walk up stairs to my dorm room. The door was unlocked like Jessie said. "Jessie I'm home!" I yelled. She didn't say anything. I figured that she was tired and went to sleep. Eventually I fell asleep. I woke around  9:30 the next morning. It was quiet and that was unusual because Jessie always takes an hour long shower in the mornings. I called her name about 3 times. Jessie! Jessie! Jessie! I checked in the bathroom and she wasn't there. So I walked towards her room. The door was closed. I knocked on her door. She didn't answer. I waited for five more minutes for an answer before I kicked her door open. And that's when I saw her. Ahhhhhhhhh......O my god Jessie!Noo!
