Kordelia shook her head and said, "I'm sorry, the noise in here is making it hard to hear. What again do you wish to speak to me about? Surely I heard wrong because it sounded like you said you and I married."

Aragorn didn't laugh nor did his face show any amusement telling her she had in fact heard right making her good mood fade and for some reason anger was what heated her insides.

"Would you care to join me on the terrace?"

Kordelia nodded for him to lead the way before knocking back everything in her wine glass  by the time they reached the veranda where a soft breeze flew around them making Kordilia appear to be floating in her gown and hair down.

She had her back to him with her hand patting her side where her dagger normally waited for her grasp. No doubt a nervous or agitated gesture that made Aragorn uneasy.

Finally her voice sounded but she did not turn to look at him, "Tell me you have been partaking in one of the drinking games. You honestly cannot think marrying me is a realistic or wise decision on any count."

Aragorn answered quiet bluntly. "I have not indulged in the wine or ale nor have I come up with this idea just this moment. This has been in the making for many years."

Kordelia jerked around with her hand still tapping on her side although a bit harder now as if it would materialize if she would just try harder. "What do you mean by, in the making for years? This is the first time I've known of this so called marriage and you cannot think I will just go along with this ridiculous plan. It has me rather baffled that this has ever come up and we are discussing it now. We both know I will not marry and this war is far from over to even be thinking it possible for anyone to be properly married. This is a waste of both your time and-"

"Listen to what I have to tell you now before you waste more of both our short time." Aragorn said cutting her off. "There was a prophecy long ago and it wasn't until after we escaped Moria when I knew it spoke of you.

In the time of darkness as the age of the elves ends, a warrior unlike any Middle Earth has ever known will emerge from the shadows of death to claim the lives of those she finds unworthy to walk the lands. Blood will fall like rain with every step she takes as she carries the fate of the world in her hands. The hand she raises shall either destroy darkness or bring all light to an end. Evil follows her as will much heartache and need for vengeance."

Aragorn paused there and took her restless hand which she surprisingly allowed him to do but by now she was looking at the ground as she recalled the words and voice in which spoke the prophesy and so she continued for Aragorn, "The darkness will swallow much making good shine only as the stars on a raining eve. A lonely heart is a harsh mistress and shall carry bitterness and distrust until the song of victory silences all the lands in their new found darkness or new light."

Aragorn asked her to look at him. "You surprise me time and time again my lady. How is it you know of this prophesy?"

"I did not recall the prophesy until you began to recite it and how I know is because I was there."

"Impossible." Aragorn said softly. "I never once saw a young girl or a boy other than myself at the gathering."

"I was not invited but I had crept in and was hiding in a tree. Only one soul knew I was there and he is only in spirit with us now. But how does this have anything to do with you and I marrying?"

Aragorn took a deep breath and continued on with the last part of the prophesy. "But alas one of royal blood shall come forth into light and be the one with the capability to help reach into the haunted heart and help change the impending fate of Middle Earth."

Aragorn allowed this to sink in as she shook her head. Before long he went on, "This is when I made the vow to marry the pained hearted girl spoken of. I was of royal blood, the right age, and I knew I would fight until my last breath to save my world, a world full of miracles and beauty that is only tainted by fear and greed. I knew and still know it is what I wish to fight off and keep this world beautiful and pure. I will defend it still until my last breath and I when I made the vow to marry the woman of the prophesy I knew I would want to fight evil with her. I still have that desire to fight with you."

"As noble as your heart may be, you cannot believe it wise in any instance to wed me. You know how dangerous I am and how unpredictable I can be. To take matters further, how can you justify making me queen of Gondor. To have such an abomination upon the throne would surely taint the white city. So again I ask you, how can this possibly be wise?"

Aragorn looked deep in her eyes with tenderness, "You upon the throne beside me will prove to all the goodness in the world. A mighty power once feared now living and ruling with the greatness and good in which the legendary Alexzandron people lived and died for. Forever will the Alexzandron live on in history as will their bloodline. Your just cause for smiting evil can continue to vanquish those who desire the world to fall into darkness. You and I can make this a better world. Forever change the history of what the race of men stands for and make the kings of past bask in glory as we make men great with honor, virtue, generosity, and passion."

The words sent a zing through her and her heart sank as his words sunk in. She knew this would make her father proud and she knew she could fulfill her duty in making the world better. She could guarantee the memory of her people and... allow their strong bloodline to continue.

She had never thought about what her future could be once she gained her freedom but it seemed as though it was already set into motion without her knowing. Until this night she did not remember what fun could be like and she had not considered what would make her happy. Could being a queen make her happy? She supposed it could with the power and influence she would have to fight off darkness and prevent another massacre. She could protect the misunderstood creatures of the army Thayonidas had created and make man strong and honorable. Perhaps with time she could find happiness. She knew what it meant to make a vow and Aragorn was willing to sacrifice his love of the elleth Arwen so he could fulfill his vow and do what was best for Middle Earth.

With a heavy heart she said, "When the war is over. We shall...wed."

Aragorn brought her hand up to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on her scuffed knuckles. "I will do everything in my power to make you happy."

"I'm sure you will." She answered before taking her hand away and leaving with a heavy mind and heavier heart.
