I was absolutely mind-blown right now. Like how in the world did I not know just how packed Open Mic events be in other places. This was just like concerts with how crowded it was in here. Might be a slightly smaller venue, but for the amount of people it can hold, this was different than back home. I bet Depth been loving this whole thing. I was kinda happy to be able to take a step back and see what they all could do on this end of things. I mean of course my team has a few poets but this right here was big. I couldn't wait to hear something new.                                            "Okay then! I see my people knew how to dress for the occasion." Paradox said as he walked in and took a seat next to me. We did all dress for the spot. We all had a lil hood bougie thing going lol Which translate to how the plugs dressed back in the day chillin on their yacht.                               "And did! Where's your better half?" Riek asked him as they shook hands.                                                  "Resting. She wanted to come but it's one of them days. She basically pushed me out the room, so here I am." he said and I just laughed. "What's funny?"                                                                                    "This is just the beginning my boy. She still got like 6 months left and then parenting too. Good luck!" I said and he and Kev joined me in a laugh as well.                                                                                  "She worth every single headache she gives. Well her and shorty." He clarified. It was still weird to even know he was messing with Toya too. But they're all grown and not my business.                "Mannnn I don't see how you do it. But I respect it though." Kev said.                                                        "I can see it but only if you had one and one. But maybe that's because I'm bi." Cochise said.      "See for you, that's different even expected at least." I chimed in on that one.                                        "But I do have one and one. I have a white, rapping, BBW and a mixed, designer, baddie." Dox said and we did all laugh at that. "I mean it's one and one and they're both one of one." I mean when he put it like that, who could blame him?                                                                                                    "Here's my thing though, isn't she engaged though? Like you're engaged so when y'all get married is the extras done for?" Cochise asked and me and Kev looked at each other.                          "I live in the moment y'all. I can only speak for right now, and right now we vibing. Me and Onyx have our own understanding and we play by those rules. What they have an understanding of, I don't know. But I'll never disrespect boundaries. If she wants to be with him, let them decide what's best for them. As for me and mine, we haven't taken the extras off the table." he said.            "Sounds complicated. I'm cool with my one." I said as I took a sip of the tea I had been drinking. Just then I looked up and saw Iris, Dom, Araya, Aries, and Depth walk in.                                                    "Well I'll be damned...now wonder Kev ain't looked elsewhere since she came in the picture." Cochise said and even I couldn't lie Dom did look nice as fuck. She's usually covered up as hell, but I guess she felt differently tonight. I looked over at my baby who also made sure she showed some skin this here night.                                                                                                                                                   "And won't!" Kev said as he got up and waited on her to walk to him and I eye balled Iris the entire way over to me. She had on this nice ass black mini dress and some thigh high boots looking like the model she is going to be.                                                                                                                     "Definitely is worth the wait!" I said as she walked into my arms and I held her for a moment.        "I better always be." she said to me as we pulled apart.                                                                                        "Forever and a day Nena." I said in her ear before I kissed her neck.                                                            "Likewise Papi." Iris said as she kissed my cheek before I pulled out the chair for her and she took a seat before I pushed her in.                                                                                                                                   "Let me scope out my possibilities." Cochise said as he stood up.                                                                   "I'll be your wingman." Paradox said as they walked over to the bar.                                                             "A lil jealousy and envy never hurt nobody." Araya said as we all had a good laugh at that. But for real I could see why they got up though because it was a great deal of single mfs around all of us, prospects basically. I looked back over at Iris who was staring at me.                                                     "What's up mama?" I asked her as I slid her seat closer to me.                                                                         "Nothing I was just admiring you." she said with a smile.                                                                                     "Shit you're the one looking like a piece of fine china, I should be the one staring."                               "Flattery gets you everywhere, doesn't it?" she said with a slight giggle.                                                    "It does, but with you, it's just spitting facts. I can't wait to see you up on a stage strutting and shit. That's gonna be dope." I said as I kissed her cheek and she smiled.                                                      "Excuse me, can I please get a picture with all of you? I missed out on the picture when you guys performed the other night, but this is my grand opportunity." This girl said as she stopped at our table and looked around it at everyone.                                                                                                                       "Of course." Aries said as the girl knelt down in front of the table and brought out her selfie stick and got the picture. She smiled so big afterwards.                                                                                                  "Thank you! Are you performing tonight?" she asked looking over at Depth.                                            "I sure am. You'll see us up there." she said with a smile.                                                                                     "I'm so excited. I'm like your biggest fan. Is Paradox here too?" she asked.                                                 "You can find him over at the bar sweetheart." Riek told her and she made her way over there.       "So much for a low profile." Iris said and we all laughed.                                                                                      "Ain't nothing low profile about the entire table. We have poetic geniuses, business masterminds, soul cleansers, lyricists, baddies, and multi-instrumentalists. We are the scene." Kev said and to be honest, I couldn't have worded it better.
