Third person pov.
A old woman was running through the dark, cold streets. She was hold a basket with all her care as she stumbled with every step, blood dripping from her stomach down to her legs, her cloak was covered in blood. The woman stumbled against a tree, tears falling down her face. She notices a light coming from the forest next to the village, she was staring at the basket then smiled. She moved as quickly as she could through the forest, getting closer to the light she saw.
" A house... " She mumbled.
The woman placed the basket on the steps off the cottage then took her necklace off and placed it over the blanket in the basket. she knocked on the door then quickly ran into the woods. A man answered the door and quickly looked at the basket. He got on his knees and picked up the necklace. Then he lifted the blanket softly off the thing that was under it. He fixed his eyes on the baby in the basket, the baby started crying until it looked at the man. The crying baby soon started to giggle at the man and tried to grab him with her small hands. He placed his hand near the child and she grabbed is fingers and started to giggle some more, he smiled at the baby.
"Yui.." He softly glazed at the child calling her his own.
"That shall be your name, " He picked up the basket and brought it into his home.
The old woman smiled with tears in her eyes, a sharp pain hit she stomach where her wound was. A blade. The woman still had the weapon she was attacked by in her wound. her ran as far as she could away from the cottage, to die. Alone.
Yui's pov.
It's been 16 years since sensei ( Master ) found me at his doorstep, Unlike others in the nearby village, my sensei was a warrior, he woke up every morning to train on his battle skills, one day when he was training, I picked up a bow from the basket of weapons he never uses. I started pulling the string on it and his head turned around, facing me. That's when my training started. He felt that swords and knifes were to dangerous for a 5 year old, so he taught me how to hold a bow, then to shoot a bow, then to defend myself with a bow. He did everything in his power to stop me from picking up an arrow. I was 7 when I finally picked a arrow up, he put 1 arrow in my hand and I shot it perfectly into the target. Then he gave my 2 arrows and i shot them perfectly too. Three, four, it didn't matter, I was always hitting the target. Now I'm 16, sensei is sending me to warrior camp. Something was off though.. When I arrived at the camp, all eyes shot at me.
"A girl..." 1 boy muttered to the other boys around him.
More whispering started and I just kept walking past all the words. I looked around, weird.. where are all the other girls at?
"That's her, isn't it?" The old grey breaded him nodded.
"Lord Amasawa's daughter.." He answered the man beside him.
I looked around and spotted the old man.
"You! Where is my dorm?" I pointed at him pasted the one-way window.
His eyes widen and so did the others around him.
"Isn't this a one-way window, we should be able to see her, not her see us!" The man next to the old man had sweat falling down his face staring straight at me.
The old man laughed. " Amasawa sure did teach her well. Now Kensi, go get... Horai to take her to her room."
"Fine," Kensi stormed off.
I was walking around the camp, not watching where I stepped when I bumped into something. I looked up at a the boy I ran into.
"Sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going..." I bowed repeatedly.
He patted my head, "No problem, just watch where you're going."
I giggled, " Okay, Oh! I'm Yui, from wind village."
"I'm Horai, from sand village."
Kensi walked up to us and both our heads turned at him.
"Horai, I see you met your new roomate along with the others."
"Roomate?!" We both yelled, wide eyed.
"Yes, she has to sleep somewhere and your dorm is the only one with an extra bed." Kensi crossed his arms and tapped one of his fingers on his arm.
Horai and I arrived at the dorm, he opened the door for me and i stepped inside. No one was here, but there was stuff on every bed but 1. I put my things on that empty bed and turned around to face Horai.
"This will be a fun summer!" I said smiling.
