JENNA'S P.O.V
It was way past midnight and the entire roads were covered in snow. The only sounds I heard were the clocks ticking, and the sound of my own breathing. Usually on a winter night in the U.S. I would be sitting on the stair steps and drinking hot chocolate enjoying the night, watching the snow fall, and waiting for the next day to come so I could be awaken, but this was way different, rather than waiting to be awaken I was waiting for Matt. It was dark in the entire house except the living room which was brighten by the Christmas tree lights and the porch lights on. I kept pacing back and forth hoping that he'd show up any minute, after a couple minutes a beam of light appeared through the front living room window. I quickly rushed to the window to see if it was Matt, but it wasn't. He didn't have the car but lately he was getting dropped off by a friend. I decided to sit down knowing that he was going to be even longer, I started dozing off to sleep when suddenly the front door opened. I quickly got up to see Matt closing the door.
"Where were you?" I asked.
"Out!" He said in a bitter voice.
He walked to the room where I followed him and he turned on the lights. There I saw his black leather jacket soaked from the snowing and his shoes were wet along with his jeans and bits of his hair.
"Matt?" I got close touching his hands that were freezing cold, he then pushed me away proceeding to take off his jacket and shirt along with his shoes and jeans, "What is wrong with you?" I yelled.
"Why do you wanna know? I was out! That's all you gotta know" he shouted back at me.
"Lately you've been an asshole, and for a month now, you've been coming back all hours of the night, what has gotten into you?"
"Why?" He yelled throwing his shirt on the floor.
"Why? Because I'm your girlfriend" I said.
"Yeah the only thing you've been labeled" He scoffed.
Ouch! That was something new he's said. He was fully dress and sat down on the bed.
"You know, I am sick of this!" I yelled, "I should've stayed in Denver"
"You should've, it would've been a lot easier for me, so I wouldn't have to deal with your fucking bitch ass attitude" he yelled throwing his shoes towards me but not close enough to hit me.
"Oh my attitude? My attitude? Haven't you seen yours lately! I'm starting to feel like a man in this relationship" I said taking off my robe and grabbing my jacket along with my wellies and putting them on.
"Where you going?" He said.
"Why? You don't tell me" I said walking out, once I reached the door I was suddenly yanked back into the room and pushed against the wall.
"You're not going anywhere" he said standing tall against me with both of his arms on the wall with me between his arms.
"You gonna hit me?" I said evilly smiling.
"No but it'll be a start" he said pulling my arm and throwing me on the bed as he walked out the room. It was safe to say that he was drunk just by the scent of alcohol that escape as he talked.
I got up and walked into the living room. I stopped at the doorway of the kitchen where Matt was raiding the fridge.
"Matt, all I want to know is where you've been...this has been going on for a month and I just want to know, that's all" I said in a soft tone.
I watched as he ate, and ignored my question. He was getting me mad and I was sick of this. I turned around and walked into the room, grabbing a duffle bag and throwing it on the bed. I open the door to my wardrobe and started taking clothes out and throwing them on the bed. It was best for me to just go since this isn't what I signed up for, every since I moved in with him, his attitude changed. Even though I had no where to go except a hotel I was leaving, despite the weather and the condition I was in. As I was done packing enough clothes for a couple days I turned to see Matt in the doorway leaning on the jamb, I stopped what I was doing and looked at him.
"What are you doing?" He said in a soft voice.
"Leaving, I'm not staying here"
"Don't go please" he said walking toward me and taking my hand, "I didn't mean what I said, I know I've been having the worst attitude, but don't leave me" he said.
I couldn't resist what he does to me, after ten years of this I couldn't handle myself around his, he had me wrapped around his finger and I'm sure he knew it. He took the duffle bag and tossed it back into the wardrobe and took my jacket off, taking my hand, and turning off the light as we laid down. I hated everything, my weakness was him. We laid in complete silence with our hands intertwined, as we faced the same way with his body against mine. I could feel his breath on my neck as he snores. I guess this was my new definition of a winter night.
