"9 months?" I moved to sit up.

"My name is Doctor Lowndes, Doctor Jamie Lowndes and we've been monitoring your progress over the last 9 months. Well I have, they wanted to pull the plug on you but I said no. I knew you'd pull through."

"Doctor, no offense but what the fuck is going on."

"Okay well, it's been 9 months and I probably shouldn't shock you too much. Wouldn't want you to reverse the progress you've made. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?"

"Uh sure I guess"

She sat down and pulled out a clipboard. "Do you remember what happened 9 months ago?"

I thought about it, and I thought about it a lot. "I was leaving for New York."

"Okay," she paused and wrote something down "why were you headed to New York?"

"I got accepted into Julliard!"

"Is that a long term goal or dream of yours?"

"Well of course, I've been a musician for like, ever. I obviously wanted to attend Julliard."

"Okay, did you make any friends?"

"I had my roommate, his girlfriend, well ex girlfriend."

"Anybody else?"

"An old highschool flame of mine"

"Okay, and did you and this flame rekindle the romance?"

"Yeah, I actually had sex with her a few times, should I have said that? I don't know. We broke up though"

"Your charts show you were close to waking up a while ago. A few months, we were excited, did you try to kill yourself or almost die? Perhaps an accident?"

"I tried to commit suicide when she wouldn't answer my calls, she was icing me out."

"Of course, Sebastian did you see anybody in the dream telling you to wake up?"

"Yeah the waitress at Seedy's- uh that's a cafe downtown Manhattan."

"Okay, how did you get out of New York?"

"I killed myself."

"Excellent."

"Can you tell me what's happening?"

"Okay, well again I probably shouldn't put you into shock, but your New York life wasn't real, you never left Lima, your father, he beat your entire family. Your mother died in a car accident, later proved that your dad cut the breaks. Your brother got beaten to death, Sebastian. I'm so sorry but you're the only one alive. Your dad, he killed himself."

"But what about Maddie? Abbi? My roommate? His girlfriend? Santana?"

"Figments, like a figment of your imagination. In your comatose state, you put together a perfect world, when you killed yourself you got out. Thanks to drug therapy, I was able to open a window in your universe and help coax you out of it. Your friends leaving, and you forgetting about them was you trying to get out. The more comfortable you got in the world, the more you became apart of it. We could've lost you."

"Oh my god."

"Sebastian, I'm so sorry. Why don't you get some rest while I finish running your tests. You'll be able to leave today if all goes well." The doctor stood up and walked out of the room, she turned her head.

"You have a visitor"

I looked up at the door. Santana stood there, she wore a pair of tight black jeans and a cotton green sweater.

"Hey Fivel, glad to see you're up."

"Shaqueera" I said.

"Do you mind if I come in?"

"Of course not, uh, I feel like I haven't seen you in forever but I know you were a figment."

"Yeah, I know, the doctors had me come in and try to talk you out of it, but you were too far gone, my figment was gone."

"It made me realize something though."

"What?"

"You. Santana, it's always been you. I love you."

Her face went bright red. "Sebastian, Britt and I just adopted our second child. A lot happens in 9 months, we never broke up."

"Wha-"

She stood up, and walked towards the door. "I'm glad you're awake, see you around."

With that, Santana Lopez was gone.
