5 months later...
Natasha is pleased today, it's the happiest day of her life as she just got the news of her father recovering from the illness, and guess what?
They're going to pick him up from the airport today.
Sid helped her pack all the essential items and they headed to the car.
"You know Sid, I'm so happy today I'm going to see him after 2 years, isn't it amazing he recovered!!!" She exclaimed joyfully while Sid smiled drawing his attention from the road to her.
"Of course love, it is I'm also excited to see him," He said returning his attention to the road.
Meanwhile...
Her father was sitting in the waiting room, patiently waiting for his daughter and son-in-law to pick him up.
He stared at his broken phone that he accidentally dropped on the way to the airport.
"Waiting for someone?" A man in his 40s asked sitting beside Gaurav (her father)
Gaurav nodded, "My daughter and son"
"I see" The man replied, "Were you on vacation or something?"
He shook his head, "No actually I was in America for 2 years to cure my mental illness, now that I'm perfectly fine I came to Italy to meet them"
The man nodded, "Separated for 2 years? such a long time"
Gaurav nodded
"Why don't you surprise them by showing up in their house?" The man suggested and his face lit up with realisazation.
"Good idea, but I'm pretty sure they're on their way now, and I can't even call them because my phone is broken"
"No need, just go ahead grab a taxi and show up at their place, what if you meet them mid road?"
"I don't-"
"Don't think much man, just go ahead and surprise your daughter, she'll be more than happy if you go to them first"
The man's words changed his mind and he decided to surprise them finally.
"I guess you're right, I'll grab a taxi, thanks"
"No need, let me help you find one"
"Sure"
They headed outside and there was a taxi already waiting for them.
Strange.
That man helped load the luggage and helped Gaurav get inside the car.
"Ride safe" the man waved at him, he smiled and waved back.
And the ride started.
He wanted to surprise his daughter and his son-in-law
sweet isn't it?
"Aaj pehli baar 2 saal baad apni beti se milunga, subah ache se baat bhi nahi ho pyi meri usse mera phone jo tut gaya tha airport aate samay, abhi toh direct surprise hee dunga usse, lekin pta nahi kaise me apna mu dikhaunga usse, bohut sataya hai mene usko, me ek acha baap kabhi nahi bann paya. Puri kosish karunga ki ek acha nana bann saku" He thought looking out of the window.
(Today, for the first time in two years, I will meet my daughter. I couldn't even talk to her properly this morning because my phone broke on the way to the airport. Now, I'll just surprise her directly. But I don't know how I will face her—I have hurt her a lot. I was never a good father. I will do my best to be a good grandfather.)
