Breaking Point

The wind was knocked out of me. "Ella pay attention" coach yelled. I shook my head and ran down the center of the court passing the ball over to Anna. When we made it to the other side I could feel the daggers of all the girls eyes on me. I looked over and they all looked away. Coach blew his whistle. "Go get a drink". The girls all ran to the water fountain, I ran to my phone. Clicking it on I felt a lump in my stomach. The text read "You win. Im done Ella. You can have basketball you can have the group. Im out" I threw my phone down and ran down my hand through my hair. Callie and Anna came over to me I showed them the text and they started saying how I shouldnt of broken up with him and how dare I, That I'm ruining homecoming. I just walked away. I was so done. Keep you calm Ella. It will be okay. I sighed a bit too loud for comfort. Practice dragged out for what seemed like forever. When it was over I ran over and dialed Ethan. The girls sat on the steps in the commons area listening to Ethan and I argue. Loudly may I add.

"God ethan you're making this so much bigger than it needs to be" I had been pacing the halls for what felt like an hour at this point listening to him yell at me"I can't stand you, you're putting this all on me and it's not even my fault. I told you Im going through a lot right now and I just cant do this right now" "Ethan you have scholarships lined up for next year don't be stupid." "Fine whatever You know what I'll quit." "Being the girl captain isn't as important to me as being varsity captain is to you." " Im not being dramatic I just don't have time for your shit Ethan!" "Im not the self centered one!" "I didn't play you Ethan" I could feel the hot and heavy substances running down my face. "How could you say that to someone" "You know what fine." and with that I hung up. I walked down the hallway over to my dufflebag where the girls were. I could see on their faces they knew what was said without even hearing Ethan. Anna looked at me "Ella you're being weird about this. How could you do this to Ethan." I tilted my head in shock "Excuse me?" Callie stood up "Ella I want to be on your side but this is low. Even for you." I took a step back. "Right so now i'm the bad guy?" I shook my head in disbelief. "Its probably best if we go check on Ethan." Did they not know what a selfish person he is? They didn't hear what he just said but they should be on my side. "Really Ella you made this mess. Its not cool. I think we need a break." I laughed and with that I turned and ran out of the school. I lived three neighborhoods across the street. If I ran the Golf course I would get there faster. I ran and ran I was a complete mess. My phone kept ringing Ethan kept trying to call. Did he honestly think I'd answer? I walked through the door to see mom and dad sitting in the formal sitting room, My mom saw my face and asked "Have you been crying?" I quickly wiped the tears. "No I um. I just ran here and it started to rain a little. But Im a really tired so im going to head to bed." "Good night then" my parents said. I ran up the stairs down the long hall to my room. I threw my bag on my bad and ripped off my uniform. Spanks and a sports bra were going to have to do for pajamas tonight. I turned the light off and plugged my phone into the cord. Once I was settled I took a deep breath and went into the alarm app. I set an alarm for 1am. I closed my eyes and swiped over the turn on button. I fell back on My bed and dozed off.
