Siddharth's POV
I felt a sting in my chest as I opened my eyes and looked around. It looked more like an abandoned jail.
Where am I?
A man stood in front of me with a whip in one hand and a glass of alcohol in the other, grinning at me.
Giovanni! This bastard.
I tried to move, but I couldn't. I realized my hands were tied with chains, and I was kneeling in front of him.
My shirt was torn, and my chest was covered in multiple whip marks.
I felt a hard punch against my face.
"Look who's on their knees in front of me now," he laughed.
"You bastard!" I gritted my teeth.
"You thought you'd get away from me that easily? Nuh-uh, not a chance," he said, walking away from me before laughing again.
He suddenly stopped and turned around. "You know how your father-in-law died?"
Natasha's father?
"It was all part of my plan—to kill him, to stress your pregnant wife, and to kidnap you like this," he smirked.
My eyes widened in shock. "What?"
"Yes. That taxi driver was my man. He is safe. I convinced your father-in-law to surprise you and your wife. And last night, at exactly 3:00 AM, my men cut the wires of your car's brakes. It was all part of my very successful plan."
"Where is my wife?" I asked in rage. If anything happened to her, I would never forgive myself.
"Your wife?" He scoffed. "Unfortunately, she's safe."
I felt a wave of relief hearing that.
Giovanni gestured toward the man standing behind me, and the next moment, I felt a sharp pain on my back. He was cutting into my skin. I couldn't move a muscle.
I groaned in pain, gritting my teeth.
Giovanni gripped my hair and tilted my head upward, pouring wine on my fresh wounds, causing me to scream.
Fuck! It burns.
"Die here, you dumbass," he spat and left the chamber, locking it from the outside.
I could do nothing. I had no way to fight back. All I could do was wait... and hope.
The pain and exhaustion overwhelmed me, and I passed out.
An hour later...
I didn't know what time it was.
But I woke up with a pounding headache and body pain.
Too much pain at once.
As I looked around, trying to find a way to escape, I saw a teenage girl walking toward the chambers with a bunch of keys.
I frowned, observing her appearance.
She wore a tight, revealing dress. Her hair was messy, and her makeup was smudged. Her lipstick looked smeared, as if someone had kissed her roughly.
She unlocked the door and stepped inside. Without saying anything, she unchained my hands.
"Escape. Giovanni is out of town for a meeting. Run while you have the chance," she whispered and turned to leave.
"Wait. Why are you helping me? And who are you?" I asked, standing on shaky legs.
"You don't need to know who I am. Don't waste your time asking stupid questions."
