Paris.
Ashton brought me to Paris. The place where I first kissed him, the place where we awkwardly started this whole thing. Seven years later, we were standing in the exact spot where we first kissed. It was surreal and I thought maybe Ashton was planning a trip to LA or something, but never would I have thought the place where this all started.
"Ashton, I can't believe this," I gushed as we set our things down in the hotel. I looked at the view from our window and my heart leapt. It was the same hotel we stayed in too. Except Ashton and I weren't supposed to be in the same room.
"The view's almost as perfect as you," he said softly. I took a picture of the view, and I heard him take a picture of me taking a picture.
"Please," I murmured. "I'm not even attractive anymore. Like no."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean," I sighed, pulling up my shirt. "I have the stupid scar from the C Section, I have these dumb ass bags under my eyes because I never sleep, my hair desperately needs to be cut, and I'm pretty sure I've eaten my weight in gummy snacks from the hospital in the last week."
"You're perfect, okay?" Ashton asked. "That scar isn't even that noticeable. And you're a mum. People understand that."
"Still," I rolled my eyes.
"But your eyes are still bright green and I love them a lot," he stated. "Your voice is still smooth and calming and that will never change. Also, you still love gummy snacks and I love that about you."
"Yeah," I laughed. "Remember the first thing we bought when we moved in to our apartment?"
"That mega box of gummy snacks," he recalled proudly. "And it lasted a week. A hundred bags lasted a week."
"Shut up," I said. "You ate them too."
"Y'know, I really miss those days," he sighed.
"What?"
"The days when things weren't so complicated," he shook his head. "We were in love and that's all that mattered. We weren't worried about anyone else."
"I miss that too," I decided.
"But you know what I miss most of all?" Ashton tested, standing up and biting his lip gently. I raised my eyebrow and he took a deep breath.
"You being the last thing I saw before I fell asleep and the first when I woke up," he said.

"Do you remember this place?" Ashton asked me when we walked up to an old restaurant that brought back the best memories.°Flashback°
"This place is quite fancy," seventeen year old Ashton whispered to me. "And you look beautiful."
"I know," I said. "And thank you."
"Will you sit beside me?" He asked awkwardly, pushing his fringe out of this face. I felt color rise to my cheeks and I nodded. Honestly, at first, I thought Ashton was weird and creepy, but the more he talked to me, the more I grew to like him. This was the first night of the trip and we hadn't spoken much yet.
