Chapter 12 - Troubled

I awoke first, everyone was still sound asleep around me. I quietly slid out of the bed and pulled on a t-shirt and some shorts, then my boot and left the room. Donna was in the kitchen, looking immaculate,

"Good morning" I smiled,

"Good morning Keane, did you sleep well?"

"I did thank you and thanks again for letting us stay"

"Your Rhina and Joey's children, we'd never not let you stay"

"Well, I really appreciate it"

"You are all lovely adults and it's our pleasure. Would you like some breakfast?"

"That would be great thank you" I sat down at the island, "You're very beautiful Donna"

"Why thank you" She laughed,

"I heard that Keane" Harvey said walking in,

"Just a compliment, I promise I wasn't making a move" He smiled,

"I know, I'm just playing with you" He sat next to me,

"Do you have any children?" I asked,

"A 25 year old son called Mike; he lives in New York with his wife"

"Seriously, no way, you've got to be much younger then my parents" they both smiled,

"Such a charmer Keane" Donna said,

"I do try"

Harvey, Donna and I were sat eating breakfast when the others appeared,

"You're having a breakfast party and you didn't invite us!" Noah exclaimed smiling,

"I've been told you're grumpy in the morning if you don't get enough sleep" Donna teased,

"Now that...is a half lie" Everyone laughed

The rest of the day passed quickly, Tayte, Noah and Angelo giving each other concerned looks after I asked for morphine 3 times in the space of 4 hours. I didn't even know myself if I actually needed it. I just knew I wanted it.

Then, the original plan of us leaving today was scrapped. Harvey and Donna wanted us to attend their grand opening of a hotel they own, that's finally been completed, so of course we agreed to this and booked our flight for tomorrow morning at 11.05am.

Right now we were getting ready, Harvey had left us with brand new suits to choose from and Donna had bought Arii a gorgeous dress. I tried to refuse their generosity, but of course they wouldn't hear of it. I must admit we all looked dapper and Arii, beautiful. The hotel was very classy and for the upper class of society, the Nix's must be millionaires or as Arii said 'totally loaded'. It was a very prolific occasion, lots of wealthy individuals sipping expensive champagne. We were left to our own devices, drinking and eating posh canapés. Harvey and Donna throughout the evening kept going out of their way to make sure we were all okay though, which I thought was extremely kind of them.

As midnight struck, Noah had drank way to many champagnes,

"I'm going to take him back" Angelo said, "Before he starts causing a scene" grabbing him,
