Chapter 16:

I loved my bed. I have come to that conclusion.

And because I loved my bed so much, it took a lot of time for me to get out of it. So when I opened my eyes a few days later, I groaned at the sunlight streaming in through my window.

"Sam! Get up!" I heard Scott yell.

"NO!" I shouted.

I heard footsteps stomping up to my room and the door burst open. I pulled the blankets over my head and pretended to be asleep.

"You are such a teenager!" Scott growled.

I peeked an eye out. "I am a teenager, idiot."

Scott's expression changed to one of playful anger. Suddenly I was picked up and placed over his shoulder. I hit his back, trying to get down. But Scott was a whole lot bigger and stronger than me.

"Put me down!"

"Never," he laughed.

Once we got downstairs, he dropped me on the couch. I was immediately tackled in a hug by Jesse and Jason. I hugged them back and then I noticed everyone is the room.

"Ahhh!" I screamed.

I jumped up and attacked the rest of my crew into a tight hug. They chuckled at my behavior, but nonetheless they hugged my back.

"I missed you guys so much."

"We missed you, Sam," Amity smiled.

"And we're sorry about Tommy," Amity's fiance, Corey, spoke up.

"It''s okay. Tommy will be avenged," I began. "And to do that, we need to prepare for a fight against Nash and his gang. I've been thinking about calling The Aces and having them come help us. But, they are probably angry at me for leaving them like I did."

"Sam, you did what you had to do," Peter put a comforting hand on my shoulder.

I smiled sadly. It was only then I realized I was still in my pajamas. My cheeks turned a dark shade of red and I rushed back up to my room. I could hear my friends laughing at me downstairs. I mentally flipped them off.

Once I was changed, I made my way to the kitchen. I grabbed a granola bar and my notebook and went out to the backyard. I looked at the ring on my hand. I hadn't been wearing it, and now that I was, I felt closer to Tommy somehow.

I sat on the bench that had my name carved into it. I opened to a new page in my notebook and started writing.

Dear Tommy,

I know you are gone. Or at least, I am most certain you are gone. I know you will never read this. But I have to do this for my sake.

I love you Tommy. I guess I always have. And I know I've been so bipolar lately. After we broke up and you left, I went nuts. I was put into a mental hospital for a few months. I had gone off the deep end. I was given so much medication it's a miracle I'm still alive. But I am, and now you aren't here with me.

I don't understand why I decided to "write" you when you won't get a chance to see this. I guess it's closure for me. I miss you already. We will meet again someday. Of that, I am positive.

                                                                               Love Forever and Always,

                                                                                                         Sammy <3

I closed the notebook and looked up. I saw eyes staring at me and I grinned. "Come here, Merrick."

Merrick toddled over to me and I picked him up. "How are you, baby?"

He smiled. "I missed you, Mommy."

"I missed you too," I cooed, kissing his forehead. "Were you a good boy for Mommy and Cousin Scott?"

Merrick nodded. "Cousin Scott took care of me. So did Uncle Jesse and Uncle Jason."

"That's good."

"Why couldn't I go with you, Mommy?" he asked.

"I needed to make sure I had a stable life for you before I brought up the topic of me having a son to my fiance," I explained.

"Are we going to go live with him now?"

I shook my head. "No we aren't baby. This is our home."

Merrick gave me a toothy grin and hugged my neck. I hugged him back and then I shooed him off to the house. He giggled as he ran, laughing harder when he saw our cat.

"He's grown a lot," I mumbled.

"You're a good mom, Sam. Every one can tell you that. You've just had a hard life," Scott said as he and Peter joined me on the bench.

"I've missed a lot," I sighed.

"But you're here now," Peter nudged me.

I giggled softly. "Thanks guys."

"No problem," they both said. They looked at each other. "Jinx! Double Jinx! Tripe Jinx!" "Ha, you owe me something!"

I laughed as Scott did a happy dance around Peter. Peter just pouted. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and watched as a blush spread across his face.

"Come on. We need to train."

I followed them into the house and took a deep breath. This is when the training gets tough.

~Matthew's POV:

I paced back and forth in my bedroom. Sam had been missing for a few days now and none of us knew where she was at. In the short time I knew her, I had grown strong feelings for her. But she was Tommy's and I respected that.

I jumped when my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and saw that is was a blocked number. But me, being me, answered anyway.

Me: Hello?

?: Matthew, it's really good to hear your voice.

Me: Sam! Where are you?

Sam: Don't worry. I'm safe. But I need your help.

Me: Anything.

Sam: I need you to come to New York.

Me: Why?

Sam: I'll answer your questions when you get here. And bring the rest of The Aces with you. You can even bring Landon and Kaylie.

Me: I'll be there by tomorrow.

Sam: Thank you, Matt.

Me: It's no problem, Sam. Bye.

Sam: Bye.

I hung up and rushed downstairs. Everyone was sitting either on the couch or the floor. This made telling them a lot easier.

"Pack your bags. We're going to New York." (A/N: Anybody who goes to school with me - this so reminds me of Hello Dolly. I didn't even mean to make it sound that way.)

"Why?" Tanner asked.

"I know where Sam is," I smirked.
