Finding Emily

"New Zealand atlast.", Emily said to herself as she got into the cab. Finally arriving at the very tip of the map somehow gave her the comfort that she need not go running around again. Her life finally came to a halt and the thought of it made her smile, but the sorrow in her eyes somehow did not disappear. She has been running for a long time and all she wanted now was peace and just peace; happiness seemed to be a long forgotten word.

"Trrrrriiiiinng", the alarm was piercing her, the thought of waking up was annoying but this was the first day in office and she did not want to be late. She took one final look at the mirror, pressed her skirt to a neat finish with her hand and wore her pumps they were quite high considering the fact that she was already 5'7. She was satisfied as she stepped out of the house.

Mr. Daniel Stamford had told Ethan his son that a new designer had joined them and she will be reporting today. He had no time to go through her file and had no idea of who she was but wished she was pretty so that he would not be bored during the long meetings. The merger he did yesterday brought them to the top position and he was really proud of what he had achieved, He really was not interested in meeting anyone today but his dad had insisted.

Emily stepped into the office and it quite seemed impressive. The building was very close to the sea and it was quite evident inside as most of the walls were made of glass and the blue water glistened through them. She was already falling in love with the place. The receptionist was looking like she was a model who just stepped into the office, her tight dress and red lipstick made it look like she was trying to seduce someone but who was it? "Anyway what's it for you?" She reprimanded herself before telling the receptionist that she was Emily Walter the designer and she had an appointment with Mr. Ethan Stamford.
