For those who are not familiar with the marvelous creations of Jane Austen, I give you here a brief overview of the characters and places in this work.
The Dashwood family- Mrs Dashwood, widow, mother of three daughters. Stepmother to John Dashwood, mother in law to Fanny. Distant cousin of Sir John Middleton.
Margaret "Meg" Dashwood- youngest of the Dashwood daughters, twenty three at the start of the story. Sister to Elinor and Marianne and sister in law of Colonel Brandon and Edward Ferrars.
Norland Park- childhood home of the Dashwood sisters, home of John and Fanny Dashwood.
Barton- home of Sir John and Lady Middleton, their children, and Mrs Jennings, Lady Middleton's mother. Distant cousins of Mrs Dashwood.
Colonel Brandon- friend of Sir John, husband of Marianne.
Marianne Brandon- wife of the Colonel.
John Willoughby- former suitor of Marianne.
Edward Ferrars- husband to Elinor, father of Charles, Beatrice, Henry, and Rachel.
Elinor Ferrars- wife to Edward, mother to Charles, Beatrice, Henry and Rachel.
