"will you marry me?"

the road to self discovery is a long one.

"who am i in the world? ah, that's the great puzzle." trying to find who you are is the great task we've all been faced with. truthfully, maybe none of us know who we are. but you know what i think? i think that you can see part of yourself in other people. because i found myself when i answered the question.

"yes," i whispered shakily.

"yes?" he asked, confirming. i nodded.
then i was being picked up and felt arms tightly hold me, a laugh following it.

"you just agreed to marry me," calum said in disbelief mostly, but i could tell he was happy.

"i just agreed to marry you." i stated firmly, my arms wrapping around his neck (to choke him. jk jk)

then calum started walking and he wouldn't let me turn around. the sound of water got closer and closer.

"what are you doing?" i furrowed my eyebrows at him, and he just smiled.

"you just have to trust me love," he hummed and then i could tell the water was right behind me.

"calum i swear t-," that's all i had time to say before he ran into the water, tossing me in too.

when i came up, he was sitting on the beach laughing his little ass off. when he saw the look on my face though he got up and ran, me chasing him.

"i'm sorry!" he yelled while still laughing as i followed him around the beach until he fell onto his back and before i realized it i fell on top of him.

"no you're all wet!" he whined, trying to push me off.

i clung tightly to his body, soaking him. "come onn, give me a hug!"

calum groaned and i just laughed when he finally gave in and wrapped his arms around me. i ruffled his hair.

"oh now you've gone too far," he whined.

"sorry about that!" i said jokingly.

"so hey, guess what?"

"what?"

"you're gonna be my wife."

"you're gonna be my husband," his eyes lit up like a little kids and he had the cutest smile on his face.

"what are you looking at?" cal asked, and i looked down slightly embarrassed.

"i'm looking at the love of my life," i mumbled with a bashful smile. "i just wish they would be here to see all of this happen."

he frowned and i frowned too, "please smile," i pleaded. "i love your smile. i want to see it."

calum half smiled, rubbing his nose against mine before connecting our lips gently.

we laid on the beach for hours.

when will you begin that long journey into yourself? that's the million dollar question. not even the owl knows that. you don't really know when you've started or finished until something happens that makes you realize it.

i started to understand who i am when i met calum.

maybe it just took me to find him to find myself. i was lost before then. and you have to be lost to find yourself, right?

"noelle?" blaise's voice interrupted my thinking.

"oh, hey blaise," i smiled, sitting up on my bed and muting the tv.

he sat down on the edge of my bed, "i'm gonna ask you something."

i nodded, "okay. what is it?"

"do you mind if i date your brother?"

"that depends. are you happy?" he nodded. "is jack happy?" another nod. "then absolutely not."

blaise wrapped his arms around me tightly with a bright smile on his face. "i knew there was a reason i loved you so much noelle!"

"yeah, yeah."

"so what's going on in y- what is this?" he eyed the ring on my finger with a shocked expression.

"calum kinda proposed to me the other day," I shrugged as if it was no big deal but I couldn't keep the smile off my face.

"what? oh my god!" he exclaimed, "that's so amazing! i have to tell everybody!"

i glared at him.

"with your permission o-of course," he stuttered

"knock yourself out bud." I don't know when but sometime while we were talking I got tired.

the next thing I knew was my phone was blowing up.

Jack: YOURE ENGAGED??

Kaylee: E N G A G E D TO CALUM AND YOU DIDNT EVEN TELL ME? IM REALLY REALLY OFFENDED
