Jessie's POV

It was a late Saturday night. Pitch black outside except for the flickering street lights. I couldn't sleep because I could hear my neighbor in the apartment beside mine blubbering like an idiot about something, it stopped every now and then but only for a short amount of time.

At one point it sort of sounded like sobbing. I got on my jacket and slippers as fast as I could and walked seven steps over to Mark's door ( which felt like a hundred to me ). I only knocked once until he answered the door.
He looked like he was crying really hard, his face was almost as red as a tomato and the scar on his neck was bright red. It was very noticible because of the light blue V-neck he was wearing.

"Uh, Mark, I'm sorry for knocking at your door this late at night, but,
Is everything alright?"
I looked down at my feet a lot as I spoke, as soon as I finished talking a looked up for only about 5 milliseconds before he hugged me and held me in his arms. He was squeezing me so tight I couldn't say a word, but I enjoyed it.
