Part - 11

The next morning manik got up at around 9 am & had a bath. He wanted to meet her, so he started walking slowly towards her cabin. On his way he saw albert with two other ppl, probably doctors. Manik saw that albert was very happy & thus stopped by a side. As the 2 men went away albert came near manik & hugged him,
Albert: u seriously r very lucky for her man....
Manik: for whom??
Albert: for nandini..... u knw yesterday she turned an entire impossible operation to be successful. No doctor is ready to believe it.... In fact the Australian doctor's council hv decided to honour her for this & not only her but this hospital as well.
Manik: really... I m very happy 4 her, let me go n congratulate her.
Albert: no no..... it's a surprise 4 her, I hv called her brother frm London, he'll be here by the evening I guess.... we will not tell her anything...
Manik: u mean rishab is coming..
Albert: yes.... He is
Manik knew that she would be very happy to see Rishab. He then went to her cabin, & met her normally. She asked him to try doing some work with his hand slowly & slowly. He did it for a few minutes & then she asked him to return to his room but before he left he said,
Manik: nandini can I ask something frm u??
Nandini: yes..
Manik: actually as I passed ur wishes to every1 back there, they pleaded me if I could make u talk to them once on a video call.
Nandini: video call..... but what will I say to them.... After all these yrs???
Manik: nandini they r ur friends.... Not strangers
Nandini: ohk.... I come to ur room in a few hrs..... after finishing my work.
Manik: thank u... I'll wait 4 u.
3 hrs latr, nandini entered manik's room & found him smiling looking at his mobile screen, he saw her & said,
Manik: hey, check this out, see so cute!!
He showed her a picture of kavya & sameer. She smiled at it & asked,
Nandini: u r very close to them right??
Manik: not much to sameer, but kavya.... Yes... u knw she is so cute, whenever she is near me I just love it. And cabir, u don't knw how much he used to hate kids before her, but now he just can't live without her, he is so changed, I seriously don't knw how she, being so small, manage to do this....
Nandini: seems like u too hv started loving kids a lot.
Manik: ya... I too feel so... ohk so now that u r here lets call all of them, they told me last night that they hv planed breakfast together at cabir's place..... It will be a gr8 surprise 4 them.
Nandini nodded her head & saw manik calling abhi. "hey abhi, how r u.........yup all gud.....hey arrange a video call n then tell everyone else....... Ya I m waiting.......ohk ......thanks bro...". Nandini could hear only one side of the conversation. 2 mins later manik was on a video call with all...
Manik: hey guys..... how r u all?? So gud to see u after a long time...
Mukti: manik look at urself.... U look so ill, v told u na to wait 4 a few day...
Aliya: but u fled away in the night without even telling us.... Wait this time u come n then see what we all do to u...
Navya: manik r u taking care of urself or not??
Dhruv: buddy, u r fine na??
Cabir: guys itna bologe toh who reply kaise karega???
Manik: thanks cabir...... I m all gud & will be normal soon... but I m missing u all a lot
All (in union) : aww we miss u too
Manik: now I want u all to see something....
Cabir: what???
Manik simply smiled & passed the phone towards nandini who was sitting by his side..... so that she could see all of them. And as they saw her manik heard all of them say, "NANDINI!!!". They all were very happy. Nandini's happiness too did not hv any bounds. Her eyes told that clearly.
Nandini: hi guys.... How r u all??
Mukti: so finally u remember that u hv some frndzz here also.
Dhruv: no mukti, she doesn't even consider us as frndzz.... Otherwise she would hv met us, when she came here...
Nandini: sorry guys,
Abhi: no nandini, I mean u can come till Mumbai..... operate manik... send kavya & sameer to hug us all but u can't come urself & say even a "hi" to us..... is that the way u considered us as ur frndzz.... In fact, me as a brother.
Nandini: I m sorry abhi.... But I didn't hv that much courage to face u guys...
Cabir: really nandini.... U needed courage to face us... is that the amount u trust us n our friendship
Nandini: cabir.... Plz don't say that... I trust all of u more than I trust myself.
Nandini had tears in her eyes & manik knew she was gonna cry any moment so, he went closer so that he too could come within the camera's range & said,
Manik: enough, enough.... Guys stop pulling her leg.... (turned towards nandini & saying) don't worry they all hv forgiven u.... they r just playing on..
Mukti: nandini.... U look so changed... u look tired.
Nandini: this is the effect of the doctor's work.... But u all r the same as u were.... Except that navya has started wearing western cloths ( she noticed that navya wasn't even saying a word).
Cabir: off course, mera kuch toh asar hoga na.... right navya..
Navya: hmn
Nandini: navya... r u still angry with me??
Nandini waited 4 navya to respond but she didn't.....
Cabir: leave her, she won't talk to u now & then as we cut the line, then she'll keep on crying n eating my head..... u knw when manik told us that u were here that time......she cried all night & disturbed my sleep.
Nandini: hey don't say like that about my best friend...
Navya: seriously best friend... if I would hv been that then u would hv talked to me at least....
Nandini: I m sorry navya... I m really sorry...
Just then they all heard kavya & sameer's voice, as they came running to them. And within a second, the two kids, came & stood in front of all the others.
Kavya & sameer: manik chachu!!!
Mukti: lo ab ye dono aa gye toh manik humse thodi na baat karega..
Manik smiled at them & said,
Manik: hello mu naughty kids..
Kavya noticed nandini & said, kavya: u r the same aunty na, who met us at the hospital..
Nandini smiled at her innocence & nodded.
Kavya: but how come u with chachu...
Cabir: kavya..... u said na she knew us... u were right my girl... she is my sister, that means ur bua..
Navya: ohh hello... she is her masi, not bua..... she is my sister before u....
Cabir: no bua..
Navya: masii...
Mukti: ohk ohk chill..... let them only decided who nandini will be for them....
Manik noticed nandini's broad smile seeing all this, then aliya said,
Aliya: so kavya & sameer decide whether u want to call her nandini masi or nandini bua.....
Cabir: no no decide whether u want to call her nandini masi , nandini bua, or nandini.. chachi...
As nandini heard this her smile faded away,
Nandini: cabir..... plz..
Cabir: come on nandini let them decide for u...
Manik saw the kids & then nandini, he wished that the kids could make nandini understand...
Kavya: ohk so v will call her....
Sameer & kavya together: nandini chachi!!!!!
Manik immediately got a big smile on his face & along with him all the others also smiled except nandini. Nandini didn't know how to handle the situation so she said,
Nandini: sorry guys.... I hv to go... I hv some work, thank u all 4 forgiving me & I'll talk to u all latr... bye
And before any1 could any anything to her she got up& ran towards the door. "Nandini!!!" manik called her out, but she didn't stop. Then he again said "Dr...!!!", this time she stopped for a second & said,
Nandini: my DCD is vibrating, I m needed there, I'll be back latr....
And with this she ran out. Manik turned towards the others,
Cabir: what was that??
Manik: nothing just the usual.... Whenever I try to talk to her or say something related to this. I don't knw frm where some1 or the other gets in or her DCD starts vibrating...
Mukti: whats DCD???
Manik: DCD is used by them to call the doctors for emergencies. It's the Doctors Calling Device.
Dhruv: ohh I thought she ran becoz of what we said.
Manik: yes, she ran away 4 that only..... she was lying her DCD wasn't vibrating.... See its still kept here.
He showed them a mobile sought of device lying on the table.
Kavya: y did nandini chachi go away, is she angry with me...
Manik: no my sweetheart, no 1 is angry with u..... chachi is a dr. na so she has got work to do... that's why she left.
Kavya: pakka..
Manik: yes baby, pakka..
Manik was talking to all of them when 15 mins latr the nurse entered, she came next to him n said,
Nurse: sir ur medicines...
Manik: (without even looking at her) ya I'll hv them latr...
"MANIK!!!" all the ppl on the line said sternly.
Manik: ohk ohk baba.... ( turning towards the nurse) fine give it to me now...
The nurse smiled at it & made him hv all the medicines. Soon they disconnected the call & manik was waiting for nandini to return. It was about 6 in the evening when manik became restless & got out of his room. But as he got out albert came towards him,
Albert: hey where r u going??? I need ur help...
He got manik back into the room & manik asked,
Manik: what happened bro??
Albert: actually rishab is here & I hv to hide him frm nandini till tomorrow mrng..... so I decided to take him to my place, but he is very shy & hence not ready to go home with me.
Manik: fine... so let him stay here with me...
Albert: no. the hospital staff knows him & hence nandini will get to know if he stays with u...
Manik: so then how can I help u...
Albert: firstly u hv to make him understand that we hv to hide this frm nandini.... And then u hv to make sure that nandini stays here with u today, all night.... & lastly u hv to get her apartment keys frm her bag...
Manik: what??? The first two r fine but the last one, I mean how will I get her bag.
Albert: I don't knw all that but first plz handle rishab... wait I'll get him here
Albert moved out & manik sat on his bed. About a min latr manik saw Rishab enter his room. Rishab had now totally grown up into a handsome guy, but his face had the same sincere look. He smiled as he saw manik, & came forward towards him to hug him.
Rishab: manik bhaiya....
Manik: ohh my god.... Some1 has started speaking properly.
Rishab: u here.... How??
Manik: it's a long story my brother..
Rishab: does di know about this??
Manik: yes, she only got me admitted over here, that too forcefully, but she is still not talking to me.
Rishab: she loves u.... it's her right, let her be for some time.
Manik: loves..... u hv started talking like elders haan.... And how do u knw that she loves me.
Rishab: di tells me each n everything..... I knw all that happened 7 yrs ago
Manik: nice.... Ohk now listen, as u knw she is going to be honored tomorrow, but it's a surprise for her, so u hv to hide till tomorrow..... tonight I'll make sure that she stays here along with me, so that u can stay at home....fine??
Rishab: anything u say...
Albert: that's not fair... u haven't even said a hi to me ever & u r talking so much to him.
Manik & Rishab smiled at each other & then started talking, as albert left.
About 30 mins latr manik got a msg frm albert telling him that nandini was coming. Rishab immediately got into the washroom & nandini entered the room.
Nandini: how r u feeling??
Manik: that should be my question right>??
Nandini: what do u mean..
Manik: I mean that u lied about ur DCD ( he gave her the DCD which she forgot in his room)
Nandini: no I actually had work..
Manik: I don't think so.... I think u ran away bcoz kavya called u chachi....... U knw she started crying thinking that u r angry at her...
Nandini: I'll apologize to her next time...
Manik: but frankly speaking I just loved the way they called u chachi...
Nandini started looking here n there, thinking 4 how to change the topic & then she asked,
Nandini: did u take ur medicines n food..
Manik: yes I did... hey can u plz ask some1 to get a coffee 4 me...
Nandini: ohh u wait I'll get it for u...
Saying this nandini left the room & manik got the keys frm her bag. He gave the keys to Rishab, who soon left the hospital. Manik decided that no matter what happens, that night he will definitely talk to nandini n make her realize how much he loves her.....
Precap: manik asks nandini to open up & clear things out. Everything gets sorted between the two & nandini happily spends the night in manik's room.
