I groaned and rolled over as I woke up, feeling warm and well-rested and not wanting to get out of bed at all, but I had to, I needed to go for my morning run. Stretching as I got up I realized I wasn't in my house.

Does this mean I can't go on a run?

I shrugged, what's the worst that could happen?

I put on my running shoes and opened my door and almost walked into a muscled chest. I looked up to see Sharpe standing there, looking annoyed.

"What are you doing up? It's the middle of the day!" He growled.

"I'm a Daywalker, why do you think they call us that?"

He sighed, "Go back to bed, everyone else is sleeping,"

"I'm sick of having a night-time schedule, can't you guys just ruin my night-life, and just leave me alone during the day?"

"No, you'd just try to escape, wouldn't you?"

"I just wanted to go for a run, I used to do it all the time before..."

"Before you came here or before you stopped drinking?"

I glared at him, "Can I go or not?"

"You have to have breakfast first," He said.

I growled but didn't argue, walking back into my room and reaching for the doorknob that led to the room full of people.

"Dammit!" I said under my breath.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I can't do it...I can't do it again...I-I just can't..." I muttered, looking at my feet.

"Should I do it for you?" He offered.

"Y-yes please..." I felt ashamed for asking.

"Alright," He said, setting a hand on my shoulder.

"We have a track but you better not try to leave or I'll break your legs," He warned.

"Sure, let's just go...Wait, how are you gonna go out with me?" (No pun intended :P)

"I'm not, I'm going to call another guardian who's a Daywalker and is usually outside with the others,"

"There are other Daywalkers here?" I asked, following him down the hall.

"About half the institution is composed of Daywalkers," He said matter-of-factly.

I sighed, "I don't know how they survive in such a gray boring place,"

"Well after settling in to the institution they're usually moved to an area we're only Daywalkers live inside the institution; the others don't like Daywalkers very much."

"I noticed," I muttered as he dialed someone on his phone.

"Jer? It's Draven, They assigned me a Daywalker and I'm sending him out to run with the others, alright?"

"Send him out then!" Came an up-beat voice through the phone.

"If you disrespect him or anyone else I'll punish you when you get back," He said sternly after hanging up.

"Yup," I said, not really paying attention as I walked out the door and into the sunlight.

I sighed happily and stretched, looking towards the track, time for my morning run.
