I woke up and blinked the pressing sleep out of my system. Finally, my eyes would stay open long enough for me to check my phone, so I grabbed it and pulled up messages. No new ones, but I decided to text Brian about my amazing dream that I had. It made my heart kind of flutter and beat faster each time I thought about it. I really hoped that it was true. I typed up my dream, using my best vocabulary to describe it to the point where even a blind man could vividly imagine the scene. I pressed send and smiled, reading over my work. It was so fluid and beautiful. Perfectly describing a perfect dream. I gave that dream justice.
I was happy to see that Brian immediately replied. "Really? That's a great dream. I can't wait for that day😏❤️" I awed at the adorable text and responded. "Me neither, Kentucky." I could almost feel him chuckle at the nickname that I had given him last night.
"Okay, I got to go get ready for our search today." He responded. I looked at the time. It was already 12, but we didn't start the search until 3. "We don't start the search until three, and how did you find out about the search?"
"Lilith told me, and we're going out to lunch first."
"Where are we going?"
"The same place as you guys ate breakfast two days ago."
"Hey don't you work there?"
"Yeah, but I don't have work again until tomorrow."
"Oh, just wanted to make sure you weren't skipping work."
"I would only skip work for you."
"Shut up, Kentucky."
"Whatever, Washington."
"Don't you have to go get ready?"
"Yeah. Forgot about that, I'll see you at lunch😙"
"Bye, Kentucky." I turned off my phone and set it on my nightstand. I swung my legs over the side of my bed and stood up onto the cold tile floors. I walked over to my closet and opened up the doors. I shuffled through my clothes and picked out a pair of grey leggings and a floral top. I whipped off my pajamas and pulled on my outfit. I brushed out my hair and let it stay cascaded around my shoulders instead of pulling it up as normal. I grabbed my phone and walked out of my room and saw mom sitting on the couch. "Hi mom," I said to her, sitting down next to her.
"I heard your conversation yesterday afternoon," she replied simply. I could see a smirk falling across her face.
"Huh?" I asked, pretending to not know what she was talking about. Except I knew exactly what she was talking about. She was talking about my conversation with Grey and Brian.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about," mom said, letting out an exasperated sigh.
"Okay, I do know what you're talking about," I said.
"And I told you that you liked Brian," she smirked.
"Mom!" I complained, but a smile stayed on my face.
"I also saw a bit of it," she said, a grin now taking place of the smirk. And I knew exactly what part she was talking about.
"Mom!" I complained again, and I could feel my cheeks heat up.
"It's okay, it was just mildly surprising," she said.
"Well, I have to go out to lunch with my friends, and then we're going on a search," I replied casually, standing up and grabbing my keys and my purse.
"Do you know if there's going to be bad people?" Mom called out.
"Maybe!" I replied, running out the door before my mom could stop me. I ran out to the car and swung open the door. I hopped in, slamming the door behind me, and pushed the keys into the ignition. The car came to life and I pulled out of the driveway and onto the road. I drove down the street and to the restaurant. I parked the car in the parking  lot, and walked inside. It smelled so good, as usual during lunch time. I could smell them frying up the French fries and grilling burgers. Delicious. I walked up to the hostess and smiled.
"Table for one?" She asked.
"No, table for four," I said, "The rest of my group should be here soon."
"Okay," she replied, grabbing four menus and four utensil bundles, "Come right this way." I followed her to a booth in the corner that was still visible from the front, so Lilith, Henry, and Brian could see me. I opened up the menu and started flipping through it. Soon, somebody sat down next to me. I looked up from my menu and saw it was Henry.
"Hi, Henry," I said, looking back down at my menu.
"Hi, Sarah," he replied, grabbing a menu of his own and starting to flip through it.
"So, how are you?" I asked.
"Pretty good, and you?" He asked in return.
"I'm good, but I think I may have scared my mom," I said.
"How?"
"I kind of left her by saying, 'I might get captured by kidnappers' then running out the door so she couldn't stop me from going," I replied.
"Well, you can't lie to her," he pointed out.
"Of course, but, oh well. She'll survive," I sighed. Then Brian came and sat down next to me. "Hi, Kentucky," I said, looking up from my menu at his beautiful blue eyes.
"Hi, Washington," he smiled. I leaned in on him while Henry gave us weird looks, then, he just smiled.
"Nicknames, cuddling, and taking time to look up from your menus at each other? I'd say something happened. Maybe, just maybe, this is only an idea, you two are dating," he said.
"How'd you guess," I replied sarcastically.
"Well, anyway, how are you?" Brian asked.
"Great," I smiled.
"And I'm good too, thanks for asking," Henry chuckled.
"Well, your welcome," Brian smiled. Lilith, finally, arrived and sat next to Brian.
"Hi, guys," she said. Then a waiter came and took our orders, Lilith was last so she had time to think.
"I'll take a grilled cheese sandwich," she said, finishing of our orders. We handed the waiter our menus and they walked off to the kitchen. We talked a little bit and ate our food once it arrived, it was a pretty low-key lunch. Then, Brian payed for all of us and we walked out of the dinner and started off to the forest.
