The forest was becoming thicker and thicker with tall and leafy trees. The sky was still sunny and blue. It must be at least 10 pm at night. This was so strange. " Aha, I see that you are a bit confused as to why the sun has not set yet?" Hunter said with a smirk. He has still not let go of my hand throughout the whole walk. I could hardly even stand up by myself. " Well, yeah I'm kinda puzzled as to why the sky is still so blue and sunny, I mean most places have been dark for a while now" I said. Hunter looked back at me with a smile. " Well, let me tell you a story, you see way before our time, when old wrinkly people were young and beautiful like us" he said with a gesture to himself and me. "There was a magical spell that was cast upon the lands of Aria to make the days longer, so that the people off the land would have more time to work." Hunter explained. "Wow, whose this magical wizard who put this magical spell on the wonderful land of Aria?" I asked with sarcasm. Wtf, Hunter is out of his mind. A magical spell? What's next, Unicorn land east of fairy hollow. " I'm telling the truth" Hunter said defensively. "Um, yeah sure, if you say so" I replied. Hunter stopped dead in his tracks and looked back at me. " How about I show you some real magic?" Hunter asked. What's he going to do, pull a rabbit out of his hat and start sawing me in half. "Ha ha, well show me then, oh great magician" I said with a bow. " oh, be prepared to be amazed" he said. With a swish of his hand the leaves of a green tree zoomed straight off the branches and were flying above our heads. I mean 500 leaves were just floating above us. " Whatever, it wasn't that amazing, I mean you just stripped that poor innocent tree" I said. Hunter looked at me with mischief in his eyes as he swished his hand again. Turning all the leaves into beautiful red roses.
"Wow... that was amazing" I said with surprise and awe. Hunter handed me one of the roses that was still floating above our heads. "Here" he said. I took the rose, and it was actually real, not those fake plastic ones. I don't know why I thought they would be fake, I mean who can turn green tree leaves into roses, just like that? I looked up at Hunter with a smile. " So, you're really a magician, huh?" i asked. Hunter chuckled. " Well, I wouldn't call myself a magician, but an Exeton" Hunter replied. "whats that?" I said with wonder.
"Well, its a person who can use the five elements to their power, you know water, earth, wind, fire and spirit" Hunter said. It was all too much to take in. I was just in a plane crash ad now I'm being told that magic exists. I sigh. " Hey, its alright if you don't understand, but its all pretty cool stuff, right?" Hunter smirked.
" Well it is kind of strange stuff to take in so late at night" I replied. " So how do you do magic?" I asked. "Well, I was born into a family of Exetons, so I was born with magic in my veins". Hunter replied. Wow, what I'd give to be able to have magic like that, I mean I could use fire to burn that bitch Clare Whitfield back at school anytime I wanted. " Um, I don't think that would be very nice if you light Clare Whitfield alight" Hunter said. " How did you know I thought that?" I asked. " Its just another power I use, but it takes a lot of energy to do.
We walked on through the forest. It was now staring to clear up a bit, the trees becoming less and less closer together. The tree leaves were now sprouting flowers from their branches and the leaves were pink and purple and green. As I looked around hundreds of flowers suddenly sprouted from the ground and from the trees, almost magically. " Yeah, the flowers like doing that for some reason" Hunter said with a smile. " Its beautiful" I said in reply.
" Oh, we're nearly at my home town, Everwinter" Hunter said. " It might be a bit of a shock to you at first, but bear with me" Hunter said. We walked for another 50 steps or so, until we came up to a huge iron gate. The gate was corroded and looked ancient. When I looked from left to right all that I saw was a huge green hedge that seemed to go on for ever. "What is this?" I asked. Hunter placed a necklace that hung around his neck on to the star symbol in the middle of the gate. " Its the gate to the town" Hunter said. " It protects us from the intruders and wild animals". As soon as he took his necklace off the gate the ground started to shake lightly as the huge iron gates opened.
