Charlotte's Point of view
I wake up to hear the sound of my parents arguing. Staring at my small baby blue alarm clock, I realise that the time is only 5:30 in the morning.
Another hours sleep, I tell myself but I can't help but worry. Worry about my parents and how it would be without us all together as a family. I worry about my sister and I don't know how she would take it if our parents had a divorce. All I can do, as her older sister is be there for her.
After 10 minutes of trying to go back to sleep, I decide to get up. Not because I am worrying but because my parents won't shut up. I don't want then to wake up Millie, my four year old sister.
So I quietly walk down the stairs to find my parents shouting at each other. I am not even going to repeat what they are saying.
"Will you shut up!" I say loud enough for them to stop and look at me but not so loud that they will wake up Millie.
They both look at me in shock. Either in shock because I am up this time in the morning or because I don't usually tell them to stop.
"Good morning to you too." My dad said sarcastically, then grabbed his briefcase and slammed the front door, making both me and my mum jump. My mum then looks at me, her eyes filled with hurt for a split second and then she shook it off and gave me a kiss on my forehead, grabbed her bag and left the house leaving me standing at the bottom of the stairs. I then carefully walked upstairs and hopped back into bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow I drifted off into a deep sleep.............
BEEP BEEP BEEP
I was woken up yet again by another annoying sound. I quickly shot up and turned off my alarm. I wasn't quite awake but I needed to be up before Millie, so I could get her breakfast ready. I slipped on my blue fluffy dressing gown and slippers and went downstairs to find the kitchen in such a mess. There was half eaten food and dirty plates everywhere (not literally).
Errgh, my parents promised me they would tidy up last night after we'd eaten out tea. I was so tired that I went to bed. They were probably too busy arguing and thinking about themselves to tidy up. It's not the first time they have done this.
It took me 15 minutes to tidy everything away and put the washing on. Millie soon came in after looking very cute in her frozen pyjamas and morning messy hair.
"Good morning!" I said delighted to see my little sis.
"Morning Lotty!" She gave me a small grin. Lotty is my nickname and all the people I am close to call me that.
"So what would you like for breakfast?" I ask as I help her up on one of the high chairs. "I can make you; pancakes, cereal, toast, bacon, eggs or I can warm up some pain ou chocolates, whatever you want."
"Pancake and chocolate thing." She said very sweetly.
"Yes of course." I say whilst giving her a kiss on the forehead.
I quickly made mine and Millie's breakfast, so we had enough time to get ready. After we had eaten and put the dirty plates in the dishwasher, we both walked upstairs into my bedroom.
"You can go on my iPad, whilst I go for a shower." I said. I don't like leaving her on her own, so I like to know she is safe and near me, I picked her up and put her on my bed and gave her my iPad from my desk.
I walked into my ensuite bathroom and started running the shower whilst I got undressed. I then hopped into the shower and let the warm water soak my skin before using shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Once satisfied that I was clean, I stepped out, wrapping a towel around me.
I walk back into my bedroom to find an adorable 4year old staring at me.
"You look funny in your towel." She giggled. I gave her an annoyed smile and went to my walk in wardrobe to pick an outfit to wear. I decided to wear my blue skinny ripped jeans, open shoulder black crop top and black high heeled Chelsea boots.
"Did you sleep alright?" I ask Millie whilst walking over to my mirror to do my make up.
"I did but mummy and daddy were shouting, that woke me up. I don't like it." She said. I walked over to her and gave her a hug.
"I don't like it either." She broke away the hug and went back to playing her game. I then finished my make up. I had my usual make up on today which included foundation, powder, blusher, mascara, eyeliner and lip balm. I don't like going out without putting on make up because without it I feel ugly. It makes me feel better about the way I look.
"So, what would you like to wear for nursery today?" I asked her. It is her first day at nursery this morning and I am so nervous for her. Luckily I have a training day so I can pick her up after but when I go back to sixth form tomorrow my mum is paying a child carer to pick her up because nursery is only in the morning.
"Pink dress, pink leggings and pink socks" she said delighted.
"You can't wear pink everything." I laugh. "Let's go and see what you've got."
I then picked her up and carried her to her bedroom. I place her on her sofa and open her wardrobe. I pick out her pink dress, black leggings and white trainer socks.
"You can wear your new sparkly pink shoes." I said, making her smile.
I help her get ready, checking the time after. It was 8 o'clock leaving me just enough time to do mine and Millie's hair.
After doing my hair in a messy ponytail, I walk over to Millie and start the brush her soft curly hair.
"Please can I have a plait?" She asked.
"Of course." I said whilst French plaiting her hair.
"I don't want to go to nursery." She said giving out a little sob.
"You will have a great time, I am sure you will make lots of new friends." I reassured her.
"But what if they don't princesses." She said. I let out a quiet giggle.
"They will, every girl likes princesses." I told her whilst putting a bobble in her hair.
We then walked downstairs . She put her shoes on whilst I got her bag and the car keys.
It was a 10 minute drive to nursery. Millie was chatting away the whole time, asking me what it is like at nursery. When we got out of the car she grabbed hold of my hand so tight. I started to get worried but I know nothing will happen to her. We walked over to the entrance to wait for the doors to open. It was reassuring that there was loads of other nervous children and their parents/older siblings but when we walked closer I noticed Jack. Oh shit! What is he doing here? I hate him. He is the biggest player and bad boy in the school. Yeah he's hot, but I would never date him, in school you always hear that he is sleeping around and if you were to ever go out with him, the longest he's been out with a girl is a week. I can't believe how many hearts he has broken.
The doors then open. Millie hugs me.
"I don't wanna go." She said.
"Look you gotta go, Hun." I said gently putting her off me and bending down to her level. "You will have a fab time, everyone is scared. Even princesses go to nursery."
"Okay, I will go. Bye bye." She said. I kissed her on her cheek and stood back up.
"Bye, have an amazing time." I said as she walked into the entrance. The teacher smiled at me as Millie waved at me and blew me a kiss.
I waited for all the children to go in and then started to walk back to my car but someone tapped me on the shoulder causing me to stop and look behind. Errgh. Why him?
"Hey, Charlotte isn't it?" Jack said.
"Yeah." I said quickly, I really don't want to talk to him.
"How come you're here?" He said giving me one of his 'friendly' smiles.
"Same as you, taking my sister to nursery." I said harshly.
"You are looking very sexy today." He said checking me out.
"That's nice!" I say sarcastically and quickly walking off and getting in my car. I look back at him to see a shocked expression in his face. I laugh to myself.
He is honestly disgusting, he should know by now that I HATE him.
I am looking forward to a relaxing morning.
