*Neveah's POV*

I woke up with my usual 'fuck the world' attitude. I know it's a little harsh for such a beautiful day, but I don't care. I rolled over in my bed turning to see my best friend, and probably my only friend, Addison, still fast asleep. I'm so glad I have her. She's the only one that didn't blow me off back in my unpleasant days, when I was an emotional trainwreck. But I couldn't help it. I'm a pitiful type of person, I'm not strong and I have the scars to prove it.

I silently tip-toed around Addi careful not to wake her up because Addison in the morning is a equivalent to a serial killer. I walked into my bathroom looking at myself in the mirror. I wish I looked pretty for once, I thought but quickly pushed it away. Not today. I looked at my reflection once more before splashing hot water on my face. I quickly grabbed a towel from my door and walked out stepping onto the carpet.

"Ow!" I heard a shrill cry come from Addison when I realized I had stepped on her hand.

"I'm so sorry!" I apologized throwing my towel down and helping her off the floor.

"How was your sleep?" She asked, sarcastically, stretching herself out as she stood up.

"A lot better than yours I bet." I giggled, "Why'd you let me sleep on the bed?"

"It didn't go that way exactly. You were drunk off your ass and I pratically had to carry you up the stairs while keeping you quiet so your mom wouldn't hear, but when I finally got to your room you   faceplanted on the bed." She said recapping the night.

"Sorry again?" I replied shrugging my shoulders. If there was one thing I hated about myself it would be my lack of self control. No matter what I do I do too much of it and it's a horrible thing, not always, but usually and partying until I can't stand is one of them.

"It really isn't a problem. I like the floor." She acutally sounded convincing.

"You're so weird."

"But you love me." She smiled throwing your arms around my neck and embracing me in a hug. That's what I loved about Addison, she never held grudges and laughs everything off as if it were nothing, I swear I want to be more like her.

We headed down the stairs into the kitchen where my cook, Sophia, was chopping away at some peppers she was about to throw in an omlet.

"Good morning!" I chimed making Sophia jolt her head upward.

"Are you feeling okay, Neveah? It's ten o'clock, what are you doing up at regular human hours?" She joked.

That was our thing. Ever since I was a little kid I would get into a habit of waking up late, and I mean really late, and going to bed when the sun was coming up. When everyone was enjoying lunch, I was having pancakes. Sophia would stay up late and make sure that I always got dinner since I was never hungry when everyone else was. She was great to me and the twins. I considered her a better mom than my actual one, who I doubt even knows my age.

"Yeah, yeah." I teased sticking my tonuge at her, "Is that omlet for me?" I asked taking intrest.

"Of course! What would you like Addison?" Sophia asked in her genuine, kind manner.

"I'll just grab some cereal, thanks." Addi smiled walking over to the food cabinet.

"Where's mom?"

"She had to go into work extra early for five o'clock appointment. Surgeons never really rest do they?" She said.

"And the twins?"

"Still fast asleep."

I smiled thinking of my two nine year old twin sisters, Amiah and Mary-Grace. They were really good at turning your day around. They were always smiling and always running around making games up in their minds. They could keep themselves entertained for hours on end which came in handy when I had to babysit them. I loved my little sisters to pieces.
