"Nathan?"

I asked as I walked into the stables.

A brown-haired guy turned towards me and smiled.

"You must be Connor"

I nodded and walked towards the guy.

He was a bit taller than me but not very.

"I'm Nathan,

You can call me Nath"

He shook my hand and I nodded again with a smile.

He walked over towards a bucket with food in it.

"I was just feeding them, you can help me and then I'll introduce you to all the animals"

He handed me a second bucket and started walking along the stables.

There were over 30 of them and I remembered every single name.

"And here we have Kit"

He walked over to a beautiful white horse.

He slowly stroked the head of the beast and I took his posture in.

"He's Tristan's, isn't he?"

I looked into the horse's golden eyes and he quickly bowed his head.

Nathan nodded and went on to the next horse which staggered a bit.

It was black.

"Why do I have a feeling this is James'?"

Nathan laughed and fed the horse.

"You're more than right, this is Tamsen"

I nodded and walked towards the last horse.

"Who's this?"

"Oh we never named her, she won't trust anyone so no one rides her"

"Pity"

I said while looking at the light brown horse in front of me.

"She's a beauty"

"She is"

Nathan agreed.

I held my hand out to the horse but it backed away from me instantly.

Nathan explained all the tasks that needed to be done to me and we agreed that we would take turns feeding them and we would get together every Saturday to clean all the stables together.

And then we walked back to the fire pit together and I told him that I had to stop by a place and he went off to his cabin.

And I went towards the blacksmith.

Soon enough I spotted familiar curls bouncing around.

I leaned up against the entrance and smiled as I saw him running around the fire with something in his hand.

"Boo"

I said out loud and I saw Brad drop the metal object before grabbing it out the fire with his bare hand.

"Shit Connor"

He went over to a bucket of water and dropped the metal in it.

"You scared me"

He turned around and smiled at me.

I looked at his hand.

"Are you okay?"

He looked at me in confusion

"Of course, why wouldn't I be"

"You just placed your hand in burning fire"

I looked up at his eyes with worry.

He laughed once again.

"I'm fine, look"

He held his hand up to my face.

And he was fine,

He had no trace of burns whatsoever.

I faked a sad look.

"Ah shit,

I really wanted to go see James

Can't you just burn yourself or something?"

I looked at him with puppy eyes and he rolled his.

"Shut up"

"Sorry"

I mumbled.

"What were you doing anyways?"

Doroteia walked through the entrance and quickly skipped around the shop.

Brad looked at her and took and apple from a shelf and gave it to her.

"I was working on some girl's sword"

"Oh"

"Yeah"

I looked at Dor eating her apple and then coming up to me.

"Haven't seen you in a while little one"

I spoke while laying my hand on her back.

She sniffled and sat down.

"I should probably go back to work"

Brad said and took the metal out of the water.

"See you at dinner?

We can eat together if you want"

He looked at me with hopeful eyes.

"Sure"

I smiled.

"Great"

He smiled and walked towards me to give me a hug.

He smelled like fire and fresh air and flowers.

"See you tonight"
