As Perospero escorted the most important guests, the leaders of the criminal underworld, through the castle with his candy-making powers, Bege was busy dealing with some random chump who was trying to get in through the gate. Bege and his pirates were on guard duty.
Jigra: Open the gate! I don't need a body check!
Bege: Uh...I'm afraid you do, sir.
Jigra: Is Big Mom already in there? See, I had an invitation from the last party, but sadly, I was unable to attend! It was my mother's funeral. I wrote my reasons in a letter—but what do you think Big Mom sent me?!
Just then, something pierced the man in the forehead, killing him instantly. He fell over, dead, shocking Bege and his pirates (as well as the Homie gate).
Bege: Who fired?! That was a guest!!
A large man with a thick scarf wrapped around his lower mouth, who was sitting on the top of the gate, spoke up.
???: He was going to say, "What do you think Big Mom sent me? My father's hospitalized head. And I've come here today for revenge. Open the gate! Blam blam!" Then he opens fire. He shot two of your men.
Bege and his men began to sweat nervously at the sight of the man.
Bege: General Katakuri...!
Katakuri: But before that happened, I threw a jelly bean at him. Was that a mistake, Bege the Rook? Tell Mama that it was my call. And now you'll say, "All right... Will do."

The most important guests entered the tea party proper, which was on the rooftop of the tall-ass Whole Cake Chateau, where hundreds of people were already, yapping, eating, and drinking.
Smoothie welcomed them. She motioned to three things that were hanging from a wall.
Smoothie: Welcome, guests! May I fix you a drink?
A tall, walking albatross with a top hat stepped up.

Smoothie: I've got Mt. Mauri Lava, Babe Who Stabbed a Hundred Men, and Weird Screaming Giraffe.

Stussy: I'll try the giraffe.
Smoothie: Coming right up.
The taller woman wrung the giraffe's neck, causing it to scream in pain. Juice dripped out of it, filling a glass cup, which Smoothie handed to Stussy.
Stussy: <drinking> Mmm, tasty and smooth.
The other underworld leaders laughed as Big Mom made her appearance.
