The light was shining softly through my window, it was late afternoon a little after lunch. I was studying in my room for a stupid English test, I don't understand why we have to have a test the second week of school. I'm Sarah Jane Ashton, a everyday 17 year old. I guess you could say I'm kind of a people pleaser, I just like to be nice that's all.
I had one earphone in when I heard what sounded like a moving truck pull in to the driveway next door. Is someone moving in? I asked myself as I get up to look out my window. What I saw was a huge U-Haul truck outside our neighbors house with a man and a woman. I was about to go back to studying because I thought it was just a young couple, then I saw something that caught my eye. I look back over at the truck and I saw the most amazing human being I've ever seen in my life.
It was a guy, he look about the same age as me, chestnut colored hair, and the bluest eyes. He was really tall, and seemed like a popular. The girl at my school are going to go crazy for him on Monday. I'm not popular but I'm not unpopular I'm like in between I guess, so I didn't have a shot with him. Wait today was Saturday, maybe i could get to know him before everyone else. I shut my textbook and walk down stairs. As I'm walking down stairs I smell a familiar scent.
"Mom, are you making cookies?" I ask coming in the kitchen.
"Yes I am, I'm making them for the new neighbors and your going to take them over there and welcome them to the neighborhood!" She said. Is she crazy??
"What! No I'm not, their probably busy unpacking and ill just get in their way and I'm not going to bug them what if their mean or..." I say trying to make up any excuse not to go over.
"Now sweetie, it the polite thing to do and I'm sure they are very nice" my mom says using logic against me. I hate it when she tries to do that.
"Why cookies mom that's so tacky, everybody does that when someone new moves in" I say not wanting to go.
"Well I already made them and we are going to be nice now get over there!" She said pushing the plate at me. My mom is a people pleaser too so this a normal thing for her. I guess that's where I get it from.
I grab the plate from her and start to head out the door. As I walk along the sidewalk my hands are shaking so much I'm surprised I haven't dropping them yet. I'm a very shy person so when it comes to meeting new people I get very nervous. The short distance between our house feels like miles before I get to their door. My hand shakes as I reach for the door bell. Before I could ring it the door swings open and someone slams right into me. I fall down the steps dropping the plate of cookies and smacking my head on the steps one or twice.
"Oh shit, my bad" I hear someone say from the top of the steps. I'm too dazed to see who it was but they help me up. When I'm up on my feet I couldn't keep my balance and fall again.
"Fuck, you must of hit your head" the guys said again.
Well no kidding, and what's his problem? He pickd me back up and helps me inside. All I wanted was to just give them to cookies and go.
now, I'm inside. Great.
I'm starting to get my vision back, and what I see is an empty house and what looks to be like guy caring me who has chestnut colored hair. OH NO. ITS THE GUY I SAW OUT MY WINDOW, MY SOULMATE. wait, what are you talking about you've never met the guy! Anyways he puts me down on a stool at the bar I see him go into the fridge and pull out the only thing in there, a bag of peas. He tosses them at me and say
"put that on your head". I do as he says because I know it's probably going to swell if I don't.
I sit there a few minutes trying not to look at him then finally get the courage to ask him his name.
