As Mycroft's private plane landed, I was fidgeting, resisting the urge to start excitedly hitting Sherlock.
"You ready, Darling?" Sherlock asked and I nodded vigorously.
"Most definitely. London may be your city, but New York is mine." I smirked and Sherlock chuckled and kissed my cheek. Once the pilot said we could get off, I immediately stood up, having to hold on to Sherlock since I got a head rush.
"Easy, Des. We're gonna get to the city soon, no need to rush." Sherlock said, laughing at my behavior.
"I know, but I'm just, really excited to be back home." I said and he nodded in understanding.
"Let's grab our bags, and get to the car." He said as he nudged me forward, and I walked towards the exit. I got off the plane, and as soon as my feet were on the ground, my eyes welled up with tears, and I took in a deep breath, taking in the scent of the outskirts of New York. I felt Sherlock place his gloved hand on my lower back and guide me to a parked car that would take us to the house we'd be staying in. He opened the passenger seat for me and I scoffed.
"Baby, I love you, but I'm gonna be driving." I said and winked at him as I went around to the driver side, and I climbed in. I closed the door, and got comfortable in my seat. Sherlock was putting the bags in the backseat and I looked in the glove compartment for keys.
"Hey Babe?" I asked and I heard him hum in response.
"Have you got the keys?" I asked him and he looked at me through the review mirror and he shook his head.
"I think Mycroft had them placed under the seat." He said and I bent over, my hand tapping around the floor until it hit metal. I pulled it out and sighed when I pulled out a gun. When Sherlock got in passenger, I was looking straight ahead, and the gun was a couple inches away from my head.
"Can I ask why the hell your brother has a frigging gun in here?" I asked and Sherlock smirked as he grabbed it from me and placed it inside the glove compartment, under all the papers inside.
"Because he's Mycroft, and thinks his little brother needs to be saved all the time. " he said and I chuckled as I pulled down the sun blocker, and the keys fell onto my lap.
"Aww yisss!" I exclaimed and Sherlock laughed. I put the key in the ignition, and turned the key forward, the car starting quietly and I narrowed my eyes.
"I already hate this fucking car." I said and Sherlock shook his head.
"How did I know you were going to say that?" He chucked and I shrugged as I pressed on the break pedal, and switched the car to drive. I lightly pulled my right foot from the break, and we started to go forward. I looked towards Sherlock with a mischievous smile, and fear flashed in his eyes.
"Destiny!" He warned and I smirked as I looked ahead, and pressed on the gas pedal, shooting off and causing Sherlock to jerk back in his seat. I pressed on the breaks, putting the turn signal up, looking both ways, then pressing on the gas again, and sharply turning right. I zoomed down the road, and slowed down to the speed limit, sighing happily as I rolled down my window, putting one hand on the window, the other on the steering wheel. I looked over at Sherlock who had his eyes tightly closed, hands tightly gripping the dashboard, and his legs helping his body to press against the back of the seat. He opened his eyes and sighed. He relaxed in his seat and I laughed as I looked back at the road. I grabbed the wheel with my knees, and quickly buckled.
"Did I scare you?" I asked as I grabbed the steering wheel. Sherlock let out a shaky breath and I could see him nod in the corner of my eye.
"Just a bit." He said and I smirked.
"Good. Just a little taste of what will happen over the trip, Baby." I joked and I could see Sherlock look to see if I was joking, so I looked at him, and kept a straight face, until I couldn't anymore and cracked a smile. I looked back at the road, and suddenly, the car was filled with a ringing.
"It's not my phone." I said, and I saw Sherlock look at his.
"Not mine either." He said and I put the turn signal on, and pulled over. I got out and to the back, Sherlock doing the same. I opened the door, and started to dig through Sherlock's bag as he dug through mine.
"It's your computer." Sherlock said and I stopped digging, and looked as Sherlock pulled out my computer, and clicked on something.
"Hello Sherlock!" I heard Mary's voice. I chuckled and zipped up Sherlock's bag and closed the door.
"Mary, how may I help you? " He asked as he set the computer on his bag, and he put things back in my bag, zipping it up.
"Where's your girlfriend?" She asked as Sherlock grabbed the computer and set the computer on the dashboard, the camera in my direction.
"I'm right here." I said with a smile and Mary smiled even more.
"Hey, Des!" She exclaimed.
"Hi Mary. " I smiled and she looked confused.
"Where are you?" She asked as Sherlock closed the back door, and climbed back in, closing his door.
"Currently, on the side of the road, heading to the house Mycroft set up for us." I explained as I checked behind me, and started driving again.
"Seatbelt, Destiny!" I heard Mrs Hudson scold and I chuckled as my knees took the wheel again, and I buckled. I placed my hands back onto the wheel, and smiled.
"Better?" I asked as I passed a few houses.
"That's much better." Mrs Hudson said and I smiled.
"So, how's your pregnancy coming along?" I asked as I passed a beautiful two story house, and Sherlock looked at it. Mary was about to talk when Sherlock cut her off.
"You passed the house." I sighed as I looked in my side mirror, and rearview mirror, then made a U turn. I slowed down a bit, then turned into the driveway.
"Anyway, my pregnancy is fine. The same since you left five hours ago." She laughed and I smiled as I turned off the car unbuckling myself and grabbing the computer, turning it so Mrs Hudson and Mary could see it.
"This is where we are staying." I smiled and I heard them gasp.
"That's a beautiful home!" I heard Mrs Hudson exclaim.
"Too bad I can't actually live here. No offense, Mrs Hudson." I said as I turned the computer towards me. Mrs Hudson smiled.
"I don't blame you. That's a beauty." She said and a ding sounded.
"Oh, be right back." She said and I smiled as I looked to see Sherlock grabbing all of the bags. I smiled as I grabbed the keys and got out of the car. I closed and locked the car after Sherlock closed the back doors.
"How's John?" I asked and Mary laughed.
"He's just fine. Acting like I'm the Queen of England." She said and I chuckled as I switched the computer to my left arm.
"Well, you are pregnant. I would hope he treated you like royalty." I said and I grabbed the only other key, unlocking the door.
"OK, I'm gonna hope to God it's beautiful on the inside too." I said and Mary laughed. I twisted the knob and swung it open, smirking and walking in.
"It's quite beautiful." I said as I started to show the living room.
"Wow, it really is! I don't think we're ever gonna see Destiny again, Mrs Hudson. She might hide from Sherlock in that house." She said and I laughed.
"Nah, if you never saw me again, you'd never see Sherlock either." I said as I looked at him and winked. He smirked as he placed the bags by the stairs and leaned on the railing.
"Hey do you guys mind if I call you back in, what?" I asked Sherlock and he shrugged.
"In a few hours?" I asked and Mary nodded.
"Of course. Go get comfortable and get rid of your jet lag. Skype me whenever you want." She said and I smiled.
"I definitely will. I'll call you too, Mrs Hudson." I raised my voice so she'd hear it.
"Alright, Deary, just be careful over there. I want both of you to come back in one piece." She warned and I chuckled.
"Yes ma'am." I saluted and she laughed. I smiled and waved.
"I'll see you guys later." I chuckled and ended the Skype. I closed the computer and set it down on the coffee table. I looked to Sherlock and her bowed.
"The lovely lady ready to explore?" He asked and I pretended to curtsy.
"Why, yes! Leave the unpacking for later?" I asked and Sherlock nodded.
"Most definitely!" He said and I laughed as I ran after him, going up the stairs.
