Justin Bieber's Point of View
Death is a weird thing.
One moment a person is with you, the next that person is gone. You want to forget the memories so it doesn't hurt as much but they find a way to slip in to everything you do. Nothing is the same anymore.
I don't think I will ever forget about Jessica Maxwell, wouldn't be able to even if I tried. She was with me every step of the way. I can't get the memories out of my head but at the same time I don't want to. I'm scared one day that I do forget about her. She was the love of my life.
That day that changed my life for the worst started of great. Jessica went to a family reunion days before but was coming home. I set everything up, a nice dinner, some candles and rose petals. I sat there for hours just waiting for a bubbly brunette to come running into the house.
I got a phone call from her parents, they informed me that she wasn't coming home. Jessica Maxwell died September 1st, 2012 from a stabbing incident.
A couple days later I got into drugs and drinking, something no one would have expected from a teen pop-star who sung songs about puppy love. I looked unhealthy and felt mad with myself and the world.
My manager Scooter Braun ordered me to take a year break.
The year passed and here I am today.
August 10, 2014
As the time passed, so did my broken heart. I dropped the drugs and alcohol and put my heart and soul into music. I looked healthy and felt happy and I was starting a new tour.
Today's concert was in Toronto, Ontario. I decided to drive down to Stratford to visit my grandparents. I walked up and down the street with my friends Ryan and Khalil.
They were talking about some sports team when we walked past Jessica's parents house. They looked to be having a party going on.
"Oh my god is that Justin Bieber?" A familiar voice yelled, their british accent coming through. I turned around to face John Maxwell, Jessica's dad. "Hi, sir. I haven't seen you in a long time, how are you?" I asked while shaking his hand.
I looked at his face, he was 50 years old but looked 35.
"I am well, yeah Mrs.Maxwell and I are getting along fine," He replied and patted my shoulder, "what about you?"
"I am amazing, thanks for asking. I took a year break to figure myself out and it really helped. I am actually doing a concert in Toronto today if you wanted to come down and watch. I have some left over tickets that I was supposed to give to some fans but you guys are fans."
"Nah that's ok. We are having a little party here, do you want to come and say hi to Mrs.Maxwell?"
I nodded my head and followed him, Khalil and Ryan stayed behind not wanting to intrude. We walked up the steps of the wooden deck to a woman with thick blonde hair that was tied up in a ponytail.
Linda Maxwell was handing a girl a plate of potato salad then turned to me. "I never thought I would see your face again. You're doing fine, I hope," Linda asked then pulled me into a hug. I looked at the girl behind her, she was staring at the ground.
"I am doing great."
Linda gave me a small smile then gasped, pushing the girl behind her towards me "C'mon don't be shy," She laughed.
I noticed the girl's eyes first, a nice shade of green. Then her hair which was blonde but it seemed like her roots were coming back which was brunette.
"Hi," She whispered, her voice was soft and it sent a smile to my face. "Hi, what's your name?" I questioned her.
"Avery."
We locked eye contact with each other for a short moment but she looked away when someone else tugged at her pants. I looked down to see a little toddler who was giving a big smile, he had a couple of teeth. I squatted down to his level, he really looked adorable. He had big brown eyes, a button nose and chubby cheeks. His hair was dirty blonde but I couldn't get over his loud giggle.
"Who's this?" I asked and shot the little boy a funny face making him laugh.
"Drew" Avery said and ruffled Drew's hair. I love that name it's the same as my middle name. "Is this your brother?" I looked up to her.
"He's my son."
Oh, so she has a boyfriend since I see no ring on her finger. She doesn't look like a mom though, wonder how old she is.
"Dad?" Drew pointed to me while looking at Avery with a confused look on his tiny face. "No Drew, I'm sorry he always ask that. It was nice meeting you," Avery stated and walked away. I saw a tattoo on her shoulder blade similar to Jessica's.
I shook my head thinking it was just an illusion but it was still there. Avery might just be one of her cousins who got it with her, Jessica did tell me she went with someone. I laughed to myself, I might be going crazy believing in that split second that my dead girlfriend was alive.
I mean when someone is dead, they stay dead. Right?
