Shades and Tints

"Paint you life in shades and tints", they said.

"'Cause that's what makes life what it is!", they said.

But what if I say that these shades have left me with wounds,

Wounds that have emebedded themselves deep within my roots?

To leave this turmoil of pain and anguish,

Is all I'd say if I got one wish.

But rarely do I see a shooting star,

Left alone with this burning scar.

To run from these evil winds,

To fly somewhere with only tints,

To hide from the strong swish,

Is all I'd ask of one wish.

But rarely do I see a falling star,

Left alone with this burning scar.

Finally a hint of white,

A ray of hope emerges,

Ready to take on the endless shade,

Ready to bring in some happy rains!

I no longer wait to see a shooting star,

I seize the day as it comes.

Open up to the tints of life,

And the shades will brighten, when the time comes!
